I have the Babyliss pro 230 and this works great for me!

- Heats up to 230 degrees in 30 seconds
-Tourmaline-ceramic plates
-25% longer plates
-poker straight high-shine finish

Babyliss are the bestest hair straightening brand(they're used by the world's leading hairdressers) and all that above is true. I assure you it will work really well. A bit about it.. it has 10 different temperature settings, on/off switch, cool touch comfort fabric, heat protection mat wraps around straightener for storage, 4 easy grip sectioning clips and 3m salon type swivel cord for easy use and so forth...

and yes, ceramic straighteners prevent the hair from getting so damaged and leave the hair really smooth.

P.s as i mentioned before, this plate has tourmaline-ceramic which is a new type of plate and has a positive effect on the hair.

A number of products may be used to stop the hair from drying out when it is straightened.

Hope this helps ;-)

A ceramic straightener has ceramic plates so it slides through your hair more easily and as a person who has used every straightener on the market, trust me, it makes your hair so incredibly soft; like a Pantene commercial!

I recommend the Chi (a ceramic straightener) because it gets hotter than just about every straightener out there which allows for straighter hair for a longer period of time. I don't use any products personally but most every hair company makes a straightening product now. I like Matrix and the Chi brand of products myself, though.

Ceramic straighteners are good, they have ceramic plates. I've had some for a year.
I would recommend GHDs, they are far better straighteners. They take only a few seconds to heat up and take half the time that ceramic straighteners take. They're a little pricey, but worth it.

ceramic straighteners are just straigheners who's plates are made of ceramic, which tends to be smoother and a better heat conducter. Cereamic is always the best way to go when it comes to striaghtening, i also suggest an iron that goes higher than the norm irons, the higher the heat, the better your results. you wont have to go over the same patch of hair over and over so your hair gets a lot less damaged, which means smoother, less frizzy hair

i suggest the Chi, its expensive but worth it

Ceramic means that your hair wont stick to the plates. i have never had a problem with my hair sticking to the plates so idk... but at my hair cutting place, my hair cutter said that she and anybody at her store hasnt used ceramic. so its not a big deal. my sibling just got a ceramic curling iron and it SUCKS. no kidding it doesnt go through your hair smoothly and it hurts... so i deffinenlty recommend a none ceramic curling iron. but for a straightener, i had a ceramic and it was good. but i just broke right after the one year warently ran out. my hair is really damaged. i have really frizzy hair to. im probably gonna get the Corioliss straightener. they sell them at some booths in the mall and they work like a dream! lol but idk what your price range is. they are $120. but what ive been doing, is using suave proffesionals hairspray to take my frizz. its doesnt make your hair look sticky and just spray it about 10 inches away from your hair and after your spray it, then run your fingers through it. it seems to work pretty good. and also try a leave in conditioner that you apply after you get out of the shower. Im using TRESemme right now but i wouldnt recommend that because it has alcohol in it... so maybe try a professional product. those seem to work the best!! :]]

Straighteners with ceramic heating plates. They help them slide through the hair for a more gentle straightening process. Try GHDs.

I bought a ceramic flat iron by CHI about three years ago and it was the best hair investment I have ever made. It made my dry frizzy hair turn to smooth shiny hair. I love it. You have spend a little more money to get good results.

dont get the remington staighteners. Take it from me i swr ive spent like hundreds of dollars on cheap flat irons that dont really work and take hours to get the super straight look.

Go to Sally's or any beauty supply shop and look for straighteners that have the degrees on them, like 450 F degrees and that have a dial so that u can chose how fast or slow you want your hair to be starightened. They r awesome but use the low heat like 350 F cuz after a while ur hair starts to burn. They can range from like $40 to like 120. Yeah i know they totally get expensive but they r worth it you knwo? anyways get the 1 inch ones if your hair isnt super thick and the 1 1/2 inch if ur hair is super thick. Mine is jilbere titanium tools, 1 inch, and i got it for $59.99. Good luck girlie

The GHD is very good. Use a product on your hair before you straighten it. There is one for frizzy hair but sorry I cant remember the name of it. If you live in Great Britain you will find it in Boots and it is blue and white

the plates are made of ceramic which means they heat up faster and retain more heat, if your hair is going frizzy then you need to use a heat styling defence product and a leave in conditioner as your hair is becoming dry, try to limit the use of the straighners to a minimum.
