Maybe more people in the USA murdered would be the way to win the war on terror. I know let's negotiate with the terrorists and tell them we will help them if they stop. Maybe we could bribe them with a condo and lots of cash. After all they love the USA citizens so much. Actually if you really want to win the war on terror you would become a Muslim and let the terrorists be the rulers. That in truth is what they really want.

Your soldiers aren't "stuck" in Baghdad. Despite what the media may have told you to believe.

They are there doing a job, and although some of them may not want to be there, they're like anyone else and they take pride in their work.

It sickens me that you don't fully support your military even if you don't exactly agree with the cause, because they put their lives on the line to fully support you.

Even if Iraq wasn't exactly the source of the problem. Saddam was still a horrible person, and did horrible things to the kurds (classified now as genocide, which is a crime against humanity.)

Bush's intentions for invading Iraq may not have been honourable, however his intentions for being there now, are. He wants to help build a democratic and stable Iraq, and eventhough things are really bad there now because there is so much resistance to the change by militant groups (which Bush cannot help), abandoning Iraq now, would be a huge mistake.

Then there's also the oil problem, and believe it or not, that's a problem that could directly effect you, and I. If Saddam had gotten the stronghold on the oil fields that he wanted, you would be paying a lot more money (even more than now) in gasoline to drive your car. This is another reason why things in the middle east need to be stabalized, that is so that our cost of living can remain reasonable. Due to the skyrocket in gasoline you would also pay more for goods and services, because it costs more to ship things... it's like dominoes.

Please do more research into things like this, rather than just believing what the media tells you.

And if you still don't agree, please don't make comments such as these. It's better to support your troops regardless of their task, your support helps keep their morale high and makes their day just a little easier.

The war on terror is the first of its type so who knows how to win it. Back in WW1 there was a general that took some terrorist and made them eat pork, then he covered them in pig blood and had them shot and put in a mass grave. Pictures where taken of these terrorist and sent to the Islamic extremist that were behind these dead terrorist and low and behold no more terrorist strikes happened against US citizens for over 40 years. They understand one language, Theirs. The US needs to handle these people like they would handle us. Stop the crying foul and stop worrying about being PC that will win this war.
Negotiations do not work with terrorist and they never have. Check out the history of the world and pay close attention to the Mid east because terrorism is nothing new. Is the GWB plan the best, I don't know but it beats sitting around and waiting (the Clinton approach) for the next round.

No it isn't. Politics and changes in foreign policy can do that. The problem with "War on Terror" is that it is an idea. You can not destroy and idea with violence. The ideal just grows and becomes stronger. We have proven to other nations that our government (not the citizens) are, simply put.. bullies. They do not hate us for our freedom, they hate us cause our governent supports mass murders and dictators. The US government CREATED Sadam Hussain, when we knew he was a thug. We gave him weapons and training possible to become that infamous dictator he was. Same thing with Osama Benladin. The CIA trained many military cells/ militants in the Middle East, that are now attacking us. Not only that we have been supporting governents in Africa and South America who exploit natural resources, like diamonds and gold. The people of Africa and South America should be rich, they have some of the largest supply of natural resources anywhere. Instead warlords recieve military aid and weapons by us to keep their population supressed. Why shouldn't any one hate our government!? WE walk around free cause we walk on the backs of the poor and oppressed.

The solution is, if you support the war.. put down your latte and close your human rights violating china made laptop and JOIN THE ARMY. Grab a gun and kill someone, hypocrites.

In responce to a comment below: Dear Assface.. oh I mean asshat, you're a tasteless idiot.

I don't know the answer from a policy or political perspective. But, just notice how they are not killing innocents anywhere else in the world [least of all in the US] because we have them on the run. We do need to stay the course. Sorry about the losses, I really mean that. But leaving now would only insure that those who gave their lives to fight terrorism did so in vain.

What we should have done was shock and awe for weeks on end. But you whiny liberals crapped yourselves at the thought of how much that would cost.

You Bush-hating-liberals hated that idea even worse, and the Democrats voted for Bush to have the power to make the decisions because they thought he would cave into your every whim and idea. Now you're just mad that Bush showed you that he has a backbone and is doing what he said he would do - and EXACTLY what the Democrats in Congress voted for.

So this is what you get. Get back to work.

Stupid comments like this headline is what makes people think America really DOES suck. Thanks for putting our soldiers in jeopardy.

The US has been put at greater risk of violent terrorism because of Iraq. We have already been bilked of 500 billion dollars which means terrorists have essentially succeeded. Our paranoia is on overdrive and they have succeeded on that front. So how can we win? Forget it, America lost years ago. A 500 thousand dollar investment has destroyed much of the freedom and liberty we had. It is doubtful we will feel it again anytime soon.

Of course not. The "war on terror" is a scam; it creates more terrorists while pouring billions into military contractors' pockets.

Has it ever occurred to you that declaring war on a noun is impossible?

If you want to eliminate terrorism, eliminate the root causes of extremism by promoting global prosperity. That would be far, far less expensive than the Iraq war ALONE; and it has a measureable chance of success.
