Sickness and death is the result of man's fall. We could have avoided pain and death had Adam not sinned. But he did and we suffer for it.

I could tell you that they are in a better place or that God works in mysterious ways but I imagine you have swallowed that sort of patronizing answer before. Therefore let me say that God largely stays out of human affairs at this point. He has given us free will and has sat back to see what you will do with it. As for children dying painful deaths, all I can say is sometimes the body is not strong enough to deal with attacks on it from the outside. That could be genetically given or simply received through being around others. Many times it is sudden and more often than not very ugly to witness. We are only given a set amount of time with which to "lease" these bodies. When it is time to return it, there is not usually a grace period. Often we cannot understand how something can have a positive lasting effect but we are short sighted at best. Perhaps the "senseless" death of an individual of any age could be the impetus for someone who is distantly affected to do something to keep others from having to go through a similar circumstance. It is never easy to deal with any loss, but God does not promise anyone tomorrow. We all have to love those around us and treat them as if today is the last time you will ever see their face. You never know when that day will come and you should never have to look back in regret for what you meant to do but put off for another day.

Children die and that's a fact. No one wants to see a child die or for that death to be a painful one. As a parents its your worst nightmare. All children no matter what age that die have had purpose in there lives. No its not fair but neither is many things in the world. Every child has something to teach and has a reason for being. There is a God and his reasons for what goes on will all one day be revealed. Many things in this world are man made, there are many children is war torn countries who all there lives see death and sorrow all around them. Children lying on road sides with there insides blown outside there little bodies. Who did this to this child? Is the soldier responsible or God? Its one of those questions that is difficult to give an answer to why? All we can do as human beings is try to stop war, to help those in need, to be there for the parents or family members who have lost a child in tragic circumstances, go to a neighbor offer what you have, and try not to focus on the unfairness of it all. I lost a child and although i was broken i knew I'm my heart this child gave me certain gifts without there existence my future would have been bleak. God was my Savior through it all. And i don't blame him. I thank him for the short time i had with my child and all the heartache was worth it for those few precious moments.

God has nothing to do with "the children dying". Everyone dies because of Adam's first sin. Their reason for being and purpose? Everyone is given the chance to live - the mistakes man has made is what kills us all. Here's a quote from Gandhi -"In the attitude of silence the soul finds the path in a clearer light, and what is elusive and deceptive resolves itself into crystal clearness. Our life is a long and arduous quest after Truth."
As far as the children being in a better place - wouldn't you rather "sleep" than live through the pain? Point basically being:
Everybody's gotta' go sometime.

My assumption is that if God is outside our material existence, and time has no meaning, and the spirit is immortal.... Then God is indifferent to life or death, wether a child dies or not is inconsequential to God.

The place where we begin to feel that the child was "screwed over by God" Is when we dont believe that the child has a spirit, or that the worst things in the childs life hardly compare to the spiritual existence he has now.

It is sad that anyone dies in painful and horrible wayz, But this is what happens when you have so many individual people setting themselves up as God, instead of bowing down to God. As much as we would like to believe it, we dont know everything, nor do we always make proper choices, hence, the child dies at the hands of a cruel "god" but not the One True God... And then we could take this conversation into WHY ON EARTH WOULD GOD GIVE -these- FrEaKs FREE WILL?!?!

:-)

Everything happens for a reason! Can you not see that children who die young in pain or sickness impact more lives and change more people than either of us could do in a lifetime? Do you feel they would want to give up that opportunity? It says in the Bible that God will never leave us, forsake us, or give us more than He knows we can handle. He is there with every child who suffers. Heaven is much greater than either of us could ever imagine....just look at Earth: God only spent 7 days creating it, while He's spent thousands of years perfecting heaven.

I can answer this question with what I believe. Everything has a purpose, even the bad things that happen, have a reason for them, one we may not know. The Amber alert, a good thing that can help save countless children, came from a horrible tradgey. John Walsh, his son died a terrible death, and because of him people who are a danger to all of us, are captured and put away. Cancer researchers are learning at an ever increasing rate about how to combat cancer.

Children are innocent. God or not, wether you believe in heaven, no matter where they go, its better than here.

It may sound strange to some, but I will tell you what I believe,

I believe every child that dies goes to Heaven, does not have to await judgement
This life is only a small one compared with the eternity of the Hereafter,
so we are taught that the child had no opportunity to sin
and is in Heaven with no fear,
in happiness and in joy.
I lost my first child and that is what I believe
that she made it to Heaven and is there for me.

Everything happens for a reason! Either it happens because of the folly of human mind or for a cause which is beyond the comprehension of human mind.
