Would abortion be so hotly contested if men were the ones who gave birth? Why or why not? Thanks.

Nope. But the entire world of gender dynamics would be skewed, and so it's hard to answer. If only men gave birth, then likely women would be the dominant gender. If both genders did, then there'd likely be less arguments about abortion and reproductive freedom because men would understand better the risks of pregnancy.

For the last few thousand years men have made the laws and established patriarchal religions. Besides laws involving abortion, they have made many that are, shall we say, not in women's best interest. It is all about being in control, and what better way to be in control than having the ability to lord it over women, make the laws, and control their bodies? (How many birth control products are made for men?)

Here is a best-selling book that goes into the psychology of how all of this came to be, When God Was a Woman. Take heart, the tide is turning and the Sacred Feminine is coming around again.

Are you going to spend the rest of your life complaining about being discriminated against?

Think about all the time you will waste.

Proof: You are now bying into hypotheticals about Men getting pregnant and having abortions.

And what is even worse is that some (several) females on the chat group are joining in to support you, support you on what?

Now, you know why some if not most men have a very suspicious attitude about so called "women libbers".

If you want to succeed in this life, be a person ......

Not a woman, not a man, not a black, not a white, not a minority.

Be a person who can study, and work, and get things done, and appreciate your lot in life.

And, when you do all these positive things, you will be truly liberated. You will also be happier, and the people around you will be happier. ....... Doesn't that sound like a better plan than to complain the rest of your life?

PS: I just read another cat chatter complaining about men. Now, maybe you can re-read their remarks and realize why men are the way they are.

I challenge you: Can you see both sides of this issue?

Nope...absolutely not.

I think that men feel they have a dominant role in society. They are the bread-winners, the peace-keepers...they feel they control all. (this is not ALL men...and this is not TRUE...it's just an overall feeling that men have branching from places like the bible and the old days when women stayed home and men worked).

Letting women have this choice over their bodies that, ultimately, men have NO control over intimidates and threatens the basis of society. In fact, MOST (again, not all) women I know that are "pro-life" are married mothers, religious, and believe that men are the dominant ones in relationships.

It's just pathetic that some people continue to live in the 1950's....welcome to the 21st century. It's our bodies, we should have the right to choose.

I dont think that would change a thing other than who supported it. Women, generally being more compassionate, would tend to not like having their child robbed from them without any choice in the matter. I have seen alot of women who are against abortion, and lots of men who support it. It would however turn the tables when it came to custody battles and child support. It would be beautiful.

How can Mary Isabel state something as FACT when it doesnt even exist? ITS NOT A VALID ARGUMENT THAT THERE IS A RIGHT TO CHOOSE WHAT HAPPENS TO YOUR BODY, WHEN ITS NOT YOUR BODY YOU ARE CONCERNED ABOUT, ITS WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN TO YOUR LIFE THAT YOU ARE TRULY WORRIED ABOUT.

Yeah modern science is wonderful now a days.Lets sew wombs inside men and make them carry around a human being for 9 months, puking, get fat, nauesous, moody. And then let them expel a human child from their body cavity. Then they can argue about abortion amongst theirselves.HAHA Oh but wait that is why God had the women having babies, because if men had to do it their would only be one per family

No. Abortion would be considered a norm for thousands of years. In the days of Kings/Kingdoms men would have been most keen to protect their lineage and would have done that by whatever means possible. (I mean, look at King Henry 8th.)

Once it was established as a social norm, people wouldn't really challenge it.

Ha! If men could get pregnant there'd be drive-through abortion clinics in every town and that's a fact!

No. Men founded the country, and its entirley possible, with their low tolerance for pain, abortion would have been on the market LONG before.

I think so. I agree with you ... the question is crazy because it doesn't matter and it cannot happen, and making a comment like that about men is needlessly mean and insulting.
