These plants are just poisionus in general. If your dog eats them or bites them and gets part of the plant in his mouth and it is consumed, it can be VERY poisonous to the dog, and very sad to the owner. If you have pointsettias, i recommend putting them on a plant stand, or out of his reach. If you absoulutely must show these plants, then do not allow your dog in the room, or another idea is putting a muzzle around your dog's mouth. The plant stand would work well if you have a SMALL DOG. If you have a LARGE dog, then you might use the muzzle idea or putting the plants out of his reach. The exact answer to your question is Yes they are poisonous.

Harmfull ? yes. Deadly? depends on the size of the dog/plant. I would keep the two apart.

I wouldn't recommend promoting the eating of other dogs by your dog. Besides, what did the poor pointsetter ever do to you?

Poinsettas, the holiday flowers are indeed very poisonous to pets. So keep them away from the dog too.

Yes. Their sap is toxic even to humans. If you cut Poinsettas you will notice a burning sensation. Its toxic.
Would a dog eat enough to harm itself? Doubt it.

Not really as long as they do not eat on them all day.. They can cause vomiting if eaten a lot.. I have never seen, however, a cat or a dog that eats the leaves or flowers of the poinsetta
