Lately, I've come across many stories that pre-date Jesus but share many similarities (virgin birth, walking on water, dying for others, resurrection)....

So why has Christianity become a dominated religion while these other religions are hardly noticed?

Christianity was founded by God, or at least the first Christian Church was. All others have been founded by men. That's the difference.

It had a lot to do with the Roman empire making it the official religion in the 4th century AD (Roman empire was the biggest at the time). People were drawn to the concept of equality in the afterlife and the promise of a new hope. Add the strong powerful institution that the church became and we have the dominance to be inevitable.

Because God is alive and active- and moving in many hearts where as these false relegions and false gods, do nothing...they are worthless idols as the Bible says: and they do not respond, as where God always responds to those who love Him. And of course salvation is only through Jesus Christ- by HIS grace. See Ephesians 2:8

Isaiah 44:9
All who make idols are nothing, and the things they treasure are worthless. Those who would speak up for them are blind; they are ignorant, to their own shame.

Jeremiah 2:11
Has a nation ever changed its gods? (Yet they are not gods at all.) But my people have exchanged their Glory for worthless idols.

Jeremiah 14:22
Do any of the worthless idols of the nations bring rain? Do the skies themselves send down showers? No, it is you, O LORD our God. Therefore our hope is in you, for you are the one who does all this.

Isaiah 64:4
Since ancient times no one has heard, no ear has perceived, no eye has seen any God besides you, who acts on behalf of those who wait for him.

-All Glory Belongs to God!

Xtianity was the first religion to fuse all of these pagan ideas with some form of Judaism. Thats the unique part.

Christ-ianity is supposed to be focused on Christ: the end of the law (Romans 10:4); But sadly many so-called Christians are as legalistic as those they call evil.

True Christianity does not law impute sin and death for the hell of it. True Christianity is based on reconciliation, not on alienation; Because it is based on Grace, not on Law.

To wit: that God was in Christ reconciling the world unto himself, NOT IMPUTING THEIR TRESPASSES UNTO THEM: 2Cor 5:19

The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.

christianity is the only religion where salvation is obtained not by the individual's good deeds but by the grace of the deity. in christianity good works do not determine whether you go to heaven or not, it is by grace through faith

in other religions salvation is obtained by good deeds/works
