My girlfriend has been having chest pains right behind her left breast. The pain started in her chest Saturday night, moved down her left arm, and on Tuesday there was a sharp pain in her chest behind her left breast. She also has trouble breathing when the pain gets really bad.

She doesn't have stomach sickness or pain anywhere else. Does anyone know what the problem might be?

I was having a similar problem, but the pain was shooting into my back and I was not having any breathing problems. If she gets short of breath when this occurs or gets the pains when she is exercising or excertion she should get to the doctor. It could be anything from idigestion to a muscle spasm or something much more serious. She should go to the doctor, you can never tell with chest pain.

She needs to see her primary care doctor, the er does nothing for people but rip them off, make sure she gets the right test done an ekg and there is another test that works a little better i can not think of it. Sounds like her heart though have her take an aspirin and drink plenty of water. Hope she is okay!

You never let chest pain go for that long. She could be having a heart attack. Some have been known to go on for days and it really damages the heart-permanently. She really needs to get it checked out ASAP to rule that out. Hopefully, it's reflux or a virus.

Did she not get an EKG or anything? I'd schedule an appointment with the cardiologist and if she starts feeling a lot of pressure on her chest then get her back to the ER.
