I do not work. I am just interested why people put up with the low grade service that is provided.

I do not want to give the wrong impression! I do not own a helicopter and I am not rich! I just feel for people that have to do this day to day. It was a quienene question.

Because we cant live walking or cycling distance to work and the traffic (let alone congestion charge) makes getting into the city any other way impossible.
In other words, because we have to.
Do you have an alternative? Please share!

Most of the time it's a lot less stressful than driving around London, and a lot safer than cycling in busy areas. Unless you live within walking distance of work, it's the best option. It's also better for the environment than cars - imagine what London would be like if nobody used the underground or buses!

because they listen every morning in the radio about car accidents and traffic jams.
If everybody e.g. in London would try to go to work in their own car, traffic would be at an absolute standstill.
In large cities there is no realistic alternative to public transportation.
I am lucky, I can go by bike.
I get rained on though occasionally.
But never a problem finding a parking space.

Londoners love the tubes, the overcrowded buses, the revolting train carriages etc. It gives them a chance to practise being rude to each other before they get into the big rude city. then on the way home they can practise again in order to be rude to whoever is waiting for them at home.
They are terribly rude and vulgar and sitting in an overcrowded tube train with homeless types is all they're worth,

Most people don't have a choice, I used to go everywhere on trains and buses until i learnt to drive, but most people cannot afford to drive. If you work in London you have to pay congestion charges of £8 per day if you want to drive there. So most people use public transport because of this.
