We have always e-mailed each other so I've never addressed a physical letter to him before and I don't want to ask him because I want it to be a surprise. I don't want to seem stupied but I need help in how to address my package. I've asked this question before but still have questions. Someone told me that I need to address the package like this: Rank Name/
Ship name/department/ divison/ work center
Is this correct?
I know his rank and ship name and address but I have no idea about dept., divison and work center. He's a Gas Turbine Systems tech. so what do I put? Please help I really want to surpise him so I can't ask him and I can't warn him that he should be getting something. I want to make sure he gets it and it doesn't get lost.
Thanks a bunch and Merry Christmas.

First off anything you send from home will put a smile on his face, & he will appreciate. Even if it is just a photo or just some written words. As far as the address, everything you've been told is correct. All I can tell you is that he is in the engineering dept. As far as division & work center, the postal clerks on board can forward it from there, he WILL get it. There is nothing more uplifting than mail from home when you're deployed especially when you're overseas during the holidays.

If you don't have his division or work center, that's okay. but you will need his rank(they'll be able to figure out his division from that)

Just address it with as much info as you have, with the ship's name and zip code being most important after his rank and name.

Service numbers are no longer used( they use the Social Security number now) so do NOT put that onth epackage. nothing worse than ID theft, ya know?

My husband is in the navy. My suggestion. Is you e-mail him. Get his address. Then send him a Christmas card. That way he thinks that is why you wanted it. There is probably no other way to retain it. Or ask a relative. They don't give out that info because of the privacy thing. Good luck.

All you need is:

His Rank
His Name
His Service number
and the ship's APO or FPO Address
The ship's mail department will take care of the rest.
