I recently received a speeding ticket in Puerto Rico (I live in FL) for going 70 in a 65 (seriously, only 5 mph over). NO WHERE on the ticket does it state where or how to pay the fine. I asked the cop where do I need to send the check and he told me " I don't know. Ask the car agency (rental car company)". Im wondering if at this point I can just forget about it or if it will somehow be reported to my state DOT or Insurance company. Does the common wealth of Puerto Rico report traffic violations to other states? The ticket does say you have only 30 days to pay it and its close to 30 days right now. I still dont have an address to send a check to and I'm no longer in Puerto Rico.

Put it this way....if the COP who wrote you the ticket couldn't tell you where or how to pay the ticket, why should you even go through the trouble. If HE didn't take the time to learn this useful information (which would come in handy with vacationers) then how did the responsibility fall on you?

I wouldn't worry about it cause you're not from there and as far as I know, I don't think they would report it back to your "home state"...if they can even figure out how to transmit the information as they don't seem like the brightest based on the info you gave.

Don't worry about it. I live in Nevada and I got a ticket in Georgia 7 years ago. Never paid it and nothing happened.
