I do think food affects your mood, but I'm not sure it affects your personality. Those are really not the same thing. I think if it were me, I would want a clarification on what she meant by "too nice." Sounds like a euphemism for something like "you let people walk all over you -- you should stand up for yourself."

Like any other foreign substance entering the body, food effects your chemical make-up. Immediately upon ingestion, enzymes, acids, and other bodily fluids interact with the food, and nutrients are absorbed into the blood stream. Different foods effect you in varying ways, and different people have different reactions based on their chemical compsition. Many of the meats purchased at grocery stores come from animals that were "enhanced" with hormones, and hormones definitely effect one's mood. The Protein/Carbohydrate/Fat ratios in any food (animal or plant) also effect mood. When one eats Turkey, a usual side effect is sluggishness due to the triptophan (sp?) content in the meat. When one eats foods with high sugar content, the insulin level spikes and results in a rush/sluggish. I suppose a good place to get more information would be the FDA or just go to Wikipedia.

Food doesn't affect your mood or personality. This is an example of correlation, rather than causation. Vegetarians tend to be nice people because both vegetarianism and politeness are being caused by a third variable, on which I will not speculate.

Well chocolate has been found to have a number of drug-like effects and mood altering compounds so I'd say it's at least possible.

I suppose it makes sense that you might be more sensitive to peoples feelings. This could be a sterotype.

I could see your friend's point.

I also might wager you are likely liberal, female, intelligent and possibly from the west coast. You listen more than you speak.
