Well he spent 9 months very close to someone and now you want to leave him all alone even if you are five steps from him! The nerve of some people! j/k
LOL yeah they tend to get this way and it doesn't go away, I know my 8 year old and 6 year old are still very upset when they are not all over me when I'm around. Babies are so cute, so cuddle him if that is what he wants! You have the rest of your life to do other things!

Well, you have to know the baby's sleep schuedule. If the baby wakes up around 7 am the baby will go back to sleep around 9:30 or 10 am. Plus you have to make sure the baby is eating right. If you lay the baby down in the crib, and he cries for the moment it's okay, the cries might sounds like he is dying, but the baby will realize that you are not coming back and that he or she can go to sleep now. I believe the baby gets overly tired and refuses to go to sleep since he missed the sleep time. He might need to be eating more, like you are suppose to start solids at 4 months. He might have an upset stomach after the food digests and no baby likes that. Rub his belly, but when he is cranky and you pick him up all the time, it is a big mistake!

you cuddle him. It's pretty simple, babies need what they need and want what they want. My son is very demanding and cried constantly for over 2 months half the time in month 3 and not so bad now, but i still have to hold him most of the day. It's hard and can drive you mad, but for whatever reason your baby wants to be cuddled so thats what you need to do. You can lay him/her down and play with him, but you have to constantly reasure him that you are right their next to them. eventually he'll get to a point where you can walk away from him but you'll want to talk to him so he can continue to hear your voice. Being their when he needs you will turn them into a secure child and adult. Plus, they are only this little once, and in a few years you'll miss cuddling with them and them falling asleep on you. it all takes time. keep reasuring him that you're their and he'll grow into a secure baby who will be ravaging your house in no time. good luck.

When my 5 month old is cranky, Usually she just wants momma and quits fussing as soon as I hold her. But you have to be careful of that because I just kept picking her up as soon as she'd fuss for me and then she got to where she'd cry when I put her back down so I had to break her of that.
Sometimes she's hungry earlier than usual and is fine after a bottle.
Maybe he's bored or sleepy. Play with him and read and wear him out.

Cuddle him. I don't believe you can spoil a child by comforting them although it may be more time consuming. The child isn't even one yet!
If you make sure he knows that everytime he cries someone is there for him he will learn trust and love. I believe it makes a baby more secure and happy.
It's not as if he will end up being a 12year old who cries to have you pick him up!
Get you cuddle time in now, it goes fast.

It sounds like your baby is teething. Try giving him some infant Tylenol and see if it helps. Also check to see if his ear is red, he may have an ear infection. If he's OK and just wants cuddled you might try giving him a warm bottle, and put him in a baby swing. Those always helped sooth my babies. If nothing else, just hold him for a while, sometimes they just need to be comforted. Good luck!

Based on all of your questions, here's what you do.....first, invest in condoms and/or have a vasectomy so that you cannot father any more children. second, get a full time nanny or someone qualified to tend to a child, because you are obviously lacking in more ways than one. Parenting is instinctual to a certain degree, but you are talking as if you know nothing about life.

He may have colic, does he cry alot during a certain time of day or night. When mine got cranky when in doubt try giving them some gas drops it wont hurt him if he doesnt have gas but if he does have it you will think of this stuff as the wonder drug.
