I was told that I could build credit for my business without using my personal credit; keeping the two separate.

Joe K, is correct, I suggest you go to creditboards.com and look around on their business forums. There's all kinds of stuff there. You don't have to sign up to be a member you can search without being one. If you decide to ask a question you better make sure the answers not there already they will have no problem telling you to do your homework and search. I've been reading that forum and found so much useful stuff.

Incorporate your business, get a tax ID number and a business bank account. This will permit you to start establishing trade lines with local businesses who will allow you to pay small invoices over the course of 30 days. This allows you to establish business credit.

This isn't a "could" it is a "should".

You need to keep the two seperate, if your business went under you would not want to loose your house.
