I believe that religion was created by humans. I sort of believe in God, but I certainly don't believe in religion. Why would I believe something that humans created? Also, wtf is up with the "pope." God didn't choose the pope, so why does everyone think he is this holy God sent man? PEOPLE chose him, just like we choose a President, GOD did not choose him, if there even is a God.

umm well Jesus is God so then that means He is a Spirit and that also means He is everywhere.
so it is a relationship becuase He talks to us and we to Hm. we get to know Him better thru the Word (the Holy Bible).
and being God He is everything good and He meets all our needs
sooo for example i am single- yet i am not pining for a man. why? i am not lonley. He is my best freind and when i asked Him to (last year i think) to take away that annoiyng sexual desire (that made me go in heat all the time), so i could just focus on getting my mind and my life straight, He did.
some folks need a Father figure -He is that, some need to learn how to be a good leader, boss, president, etc. - He shows them how.
the more you spend time praying and studying theWord of God the more real He becomes to you and the more you will experience His manifest presence (which is very awesome).
some biblical examples of a personal relationship with God can be found when you look at Adam in the Garden of Eden, Abraham, Moses, King David, the 12 disciples of course and Paul the apostle.
so in essence yes, Jesus is hangin out with us when we eat pizza, and if He manifests Himself in the flesh...well the last thing on your mind will be food or tv.

Yes. He hangs around.
Romans 8:11b He who raised Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.
The reason Christianity is called a relationship rather than a religion is this:
Religion is doing something because you feel obligated by your particular denominational faith to do it, like attending church so many days a week, following laws and rules. You've heard the expression, "to do something religiously."
A relationship with someone is when you spend time with them, invite them in (for pizza...) talk to them often. Get to know them well. Those are the things a Christian should do, in their relationship with Christ.
Once a person receives Christ's payment for their sin, receive and follow Him-then His Holy Spirit comes and dwells (stays) with us.
And you communicate with Him through prayer. (Like you would want to stay in touch with your friends)
You get to know Him by reading and studying His Word the bible.
If you are interested pick up a bible and start reading about Jesus.
If you have bible study related questions, feel free to email me.
(enjoy the pizza)

Firdt of all if you want a true answer start by being neutral so you can underestand what we are going to say. why you say "this jesus guy" you already have formed your own opinion and i highly doubt you'll even care what we answer cause you mind is made up. either way i'll answer as truthfully as i can. we call our religion, which ever religion you want, as a relationship because since we consider Him our Brother and God his father we only aim to please Him. he said that for us to go to the father we have to go by him so we cultivate a relationship of give and take with him...we are human, there are some things that we want like good health, happiness and love. the love part is God's love and also love of a bf/hubby or gf/wife. so it's an interaction between us and Him, because think about it if we are going to be with him and his/our Father in the afterlife why do we want to piss him off? we want to have a good interactions with him thus we pray to him, respect him and follow his rules making it a relationship...when you say hi or bye to your neighbor even if he/she doesnt come and watch tv at your house, that's considered a neighborly relationship...if your house gets broken, yur car gets stolen and they are there, the neighbors are going to be the ones to notify you [ neighborhood watch]...hope this helps.

It is a spiritual relationship, although, sometime physical. I have felt hugged by the Lord before. You really can't explain it to someone, it is just something an individual has to experience on their own. I like the taste of beer, some people don't. Some people are overwhelmed with joy looking over a mountainside, you can not really explain that feeling to someone unless they have felt it also.

No, you are thinking carnally rather than spiritually.
God is Spirit and the relationship is spiritual.
Joh 4:23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship Him.
When you study His Word, which is His Spirit, He abides with you.
Joh 14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love Me, he will keep My words: and My Father will love him, and We will come unto him, and make Our abode with him.

it is a relationship because i have made the choice to have Christ be a part of my life. i know that He sends His Spirit to be with me, i am in conversation with Him, prayer. it is not a religion filled with all of these laws and rituals that i must adhere to so that i might gain salvation, or if i do numerous good works, God might be more pleased with me. just like a relationship with a person here on earth, i recognize that through reading the bible i begin to know God better. He accepts me as i am, He is not expecting me to be perfect, He knows that i am not and loves me anyway. God desires a relationship with His creation.

He teaches us and fills us with His Joy and Peace- He gives us an overwhelming sense of Joy- and he speaks to us through His living word and in daily life- His holy Spirit convicts us when we are wrong, and gives us guidance. It is a very real relationship. And the more you learn of God, the deeper you grow in His love. God has so much to teach those who love Him....I love Jeremiah 33:3 that says "Call to Me and I will answer you, and show you great and unsearchable things you do not know"
God is truly awesome! And I stand in awe of Him~

Close.
When we read the Bible or pray together, He shows up and explains what we're reading, or just shares our company, filling our hearts with joy. He's a Person, so there's not much that's predictable about how He shows Himself. But it's not physical, it's spiritual , intellectual, and sometimes emotional.

His spirit dwells in the hearts of those that are saved. We know he lives in us, because we are fully convinced of the truth.
