They don't get it. They just don't get it. We're not lost, rebellious, or bitter.
Well, maybe a bit bitter. I just need to increase my fiber intake.

100% in agreement. There are those who don't believe in the Loch Ness monster and, because of this, they are not rebellious, smug, arrogant, bitter, or lost. And they're not seeking a special identity. Of course, there are many who don't believe and also don;t fall into this category but, like you said, there are many who are good, loving, humble people who don't believe and have no wish to debate or change others' beliefs. And they're not lost, not in despair, etc. Amen.
Now, on the other hand, I do think that there's a spiritual dimension to life that all humans can tap into -- something that has nothing to do with theism or even atheism. But it's not in the realm of belief -- it's all about experience so ...

I agree with you completely. I am NOT lost; I am NOT rebellious; I am NOT bitter. Here's one for everyone: I am a Jew who does not believe in god. I'm completely happy and fulfilled with my life and have no fear of what comes after death. I don't need to be told happy children's stories about how nice it will be in heaven and evil children's stories about some dude who lives under the earth and causes people to behave in wicked ways. Humans are perfectly capable of being evil without any help from a made-up boogeyman.

Certainly there are people who do not believe in God, and true they may not be rebellious, bitter or lost, but they are blinded, and I am sorry about that.
Roman's 1:20: " For his invisible [qualities] are clearly seen from the world’s creation onward, because they are perceived by the things made, even his eternal power and Godship, so that they are inexcusable;"

Believing is very important to me, but faith is just that, faith, I cant prove there is a God, just like you cant prove there isn't a God, People on the extremes of both ends are pretty much the same types of people. Neither side can say I am 100 % right and you are 100% wrong, With that, I leave you with either
God Bless, OR
Live long and prosper (Spock)
PS: While I have my own very personal and deep belief, there are people who tell me there Christians that scare me.

Yeah, but that would mean I had to truly believe something that someone else told me. I can't be sure of anything anybody says when they're talking about their feelings. I only know how I feel. Everyone else could be lying. (same goes for believing people who 'really, truly' believe in God)

Of course! Most people would be very surprised at how many atheists or agnostics they know. I was once with a group of seven friends, one of them "came out" as agnostic. Turned out four others were agnostic or atheist also. Another was Buddhist! Imagine, seven really nice people and only one was Christian!

Yeah. I also love the "no one can be absolutely 100% sure that God doesn't exist" argument. They're 100% sure that Islam and Buddhism are wrong, so why can't I be 100% sure that Christianity is wrong?

Sure one here. Just someone who came to his senses and sees what really is. No bitterness or rebellion.

mibandibee is the classic response. I love it. It just makes you want to find the closest wall and bang your head against it repeatedly.
I'd be happy if they could admit I'm not controlled by Satan. For some reason, people will argue that god gives me 'free will' so I can choose to love his imaginary non-existence, but in the same sentence they'll say if I don't choose him, I'm controlled by the devil.
Free will or devil? You decide. Just pick one though. :P
