I didn't see any information on the S6000 but all predecessors have used electronic viewfinders (EVF). The problem with this is that for every 1 pixel of viewfinder there are around 50 sensor pixels. Therefore a blur of 50 pixels in width looks perfect through the viewfinder! (no matter how good your eyesight)

Again if this camera is like predecessors, it will focus beyond infinity, (useful when certain adapters are fitted) thus meaning you cannot manually set it at infinity and set up your telescope accordingly.

Although I have never undertaken this type of photography, I believe the hardest thing will be to focus the camera correctly. With my two Fuji cameras (S7000 and S9500) I find I am totally reliant on the inbuilt auto-focus, and auto-focus will not be possible with this type of photography.

I assume you have already looked into the possibility of getting the correct adapter to fit your camera to your telescope?

I do not mean to rubbish the S6000, it looks like it would be an excellent compact portrait camera, I just do not believe it is the correct camera for what you are trying to do.
