Believe it or not, mineral oil is a great remedy for dry skin. I live in a very dry climate and have really dry skin.

When my cat became constipated, I took him to the vet and she recommended that I put mineral oil on his dry food. I did this and it worked. I figured, if it works on my cat.... well, you know. So I tried it. Not only did it relieve my constipation, it also relieved my dry skin! I take 3 tablespoons 2 times a day. That may be a bit extreme for some of you, so I recommend using the same amount until your realize relief then you can cut back. The mineral oil has no taste or order so it isn't hard to take. I tip my head back as far as I can and then use a syringe to squirt it into the back of my throat.

Moisturizing creams work in the long run...but go out and in the vitamin aisle they sell vitamin E oil capsules or a bottle of the oil itself. It is cheap.

dont be scared since it is oil.,.it is a good oil. All you need is a bitty bitty bit on your finger and rub it over the flaky skin and it will literally disapper.

This is helpful for when you need to leave the house and you dont want white flakes everywhere. Continue to use regualr moisturizer, but that doest get rid of the flakes instantly and the oil.

If you buy the capsules, you will waste a lot. The bottle is best.

What about drinking water at least a gallon a day till the skin gets it's moisture back and the cost is reasonable for this treatment

I get very dry skin also..sometimes it will crack open...I found that bag balm is one of the best cures for dry skin out there..It is known for its use on farms..They will put it on the udder of the cow to prevent it from getting chapped on the outdoor climates...Very good stuff..They sell it in health and beauty sections and if you can find it there go directly to pets...I love it and use it for everything and it smells nice as well..Good Luck..:o)

Try this product - it's the only one I've found that works on very stubborn dry skin. My ex-wife suffered horribly from Exema, and had tried everything on the market, both prescription and non - we stumbled across this product line, and nothing else compares.

I recommend the cream. It's not cheap, but it is definitely worth it.
