In our family, we buy gifts for Godparents every year. I have 3 children and they together have 7 Godparents. I would like to find something nice to get them, but don't want to spend all my Christmas budget on them! If you have any thought, I would appreciate it. Also, I am kinda crafty and wouldnt mind making the gifts. Hope to hear from you soon! Thanks!

you have to put into account your budget, like you said. also, how close are you? have you known each other for very long? is this particular godparent male, female or is the gift for a couple (man and wife)? how old are they? what are their likes/hobbies? the best gift you can give a godparent is something the child crafts himself. that reminds them that they're godparents! have your child stamp his hands on a sheet of decorative paper and frame it, or make a mold of his hands, have it personalized. try going to http://www.personalcreations.com for more ideas. you'll find their gift ideas are reasonable priced, and best of all, personalized. you can also give portraits in fancy frames (of the child), or personalized t-shirts w/ a photo of the child and his name. or personalized coffee mugs, wouldn't that be a great thing to wake up to every morning?! you know what i really like? i saw this on an episode of 'everybody loves raymond' once. for christmas he gave his parents (in this case, substitute parents for godparents) a chrome (or was it silverplated?) toaster engraved w/ the names of everyone in the family, and a message, something like 'we love you,' and sign your names (in this case, the child's name). if that's not in your budget, stick to the handprint crafts. good luck!!!

Been there , done that!!!! LOL. I always tried to make meaningful gifts for those type of people. Like for instance , one year I made them each a glass christmas ornament, hand painted. You can buy them at a craft store. They're clear so I filled them with iridescent grass and painted xmas scenes on them . Also glued fancy ribbon around the top.I also once made everyone a cute little mason jar filled with xmas potpourri, and had a mini set of xmas lights woven thru it,leave the end of the plug hanging out enough to plug in of course. Also decorated the jar with lace and ribbons. The're cheap, easy and pretty.

Get some inexpensive candles & decorate them to the taste of the God Parents.

Have the kids decorate them or make them holiday cards. Holiday Hand Imprint Cards could be fun or ask the kids for suggestions if they are old enough.

Christmas Kids Calendar with decorative ribbons!

Make Christmas Cookies or treats with the kids help and give a plate or inexpensive tin filled with cookies to each.

Good Luck!

How about a picture of the kids in a nice frame? It sounds like you could personalize each frame.

I think photographs of children is the best gift!

Gift certificates to their favorite restaurents are nice but I'm not
sure how much you plan to spend on them. If you are crafty
Maybe make them some special ornaments to hang on the trees
with a picture of their godchild on it this way they can use it every
year. Maybe some sort of centerpiece for kitchen or diningroom
table..................................just a few
