Hey Leefrommystic,

1977 to now is 30 years, so he is free to contact you if you know how to register, see below. You can apply with the state to notify him. If he has allowed that, or If he looks in the future, he may look you up. Apparently the MacDonalds don't know whre he went.
Here are some sites to help you find him, best of luck!!

Ok, his birth parents names are Sheila and Michael? Sheila actually lived with the adoptive family the MacDonald's, While pregnant?
Well, if he is almost 30, he could certainly make up his own mind if he wants to find his birth family. Have you posted your information on Adoption.com yet? He could be looking to see if your looking for him. In general, males don't seek out their birth families as frequently as females. However, once they get married, have kids, their wives usually get very interested in family background due to their children's medical history needs.
Adoption.com is the most common place to post your information on the web and it easily accessible to both you and him should he look their. Don't forget to keep up with current contact information once you post. I have found many matches on Adoption.com, but unfortunately, the poster, did not keep up the their contact information, Phone number, address or E-mail address.
It is really not up to his family if he should be found or not, he is a legal adult and the decision is his. Should you find him and he rejects contact, you are obligated to respect his decision.

Good luck to you.
