Drivers get a base salary and anywhere from 30% to 50% of the race purse for their finishing position in each race. In addition to their race earnings, drivers also get a percentage of the profits from licensed merchandise, endorsement deals, and personal service agreements. For the top drivers, this is a pretty attracitve package.
