It seems that Christians in this country have adopted a "if you're not a christian conservative, you're wrong," attitude. We seem to be increasingly intolerent of other people's religion and points of view if they don't exactly match our own.
Luke 9:52-56: "...they did not receive him...And when his disciples James and John saw this, they said, Lord, wilt thou that we command fire to come down from heaven, and consume them, even as Elias did? But he turned, and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of. For the Son of man is not come to destroy men's lives, but to save them. And they went to another village."

Doesn't it just seem the last 5 years it has gotten so much worse?, its like everybody is always looking for a reason to feel better than other people, for any reason, even the media does it, look at politically, look how the media portrays (liberals) in a negative way, look how much the media has given billions upon billions of dollars of free Advertisement of the Da Vinci Code, a very anti catholic book, the book was written as Fiction, meaning it is made up, but its reported as true, Its a changing world that's for sure, personally I think for the worse. What happened to the traditional Christian values, the Man helping Man, were all in this world together, now its turned into (SOME) so called Christians want to kill the Muslims, Anti Catholicism, My Christian faith is better than your Christian faith, Looking at the Christian faith that all started the same, it was normally one person who split off because of a disagreement of a smaller thing, than along the way, Mans will, not Gods will separated them more and more

You're just figuring that out now? It's been that way for hundreds and hundreds of years, look at the crusades and the inquisition, All of the so called "pagan" religions are other peoples faiths that were put down. Imagine that you are a young child in a village in Africa when some missionaries come and tell you that you are wrong and going to hell for worshipping the god that you and your people have worshiped for untold generations. But since "They" believe that their god is the one true god you are wrong and are made nae forced to warship or you will go to hell. Christianity is a virus that sweeps the land of imagination and faith..that is why in my opinion the Vatican should burn! Start from square one a complete overhaul of your faith or just drop it all together and trust science their are no magic people with wings flying around. no demons with horns under the very earth on which we walk... it's good fiction but that is all is it!

I think you are seriously generalizing here. I disagree with a lot of people, but I'm not about to tell them they are wrong. We try to share b/c cause of that very reason "Son of Man came to save lives" we share b/c as a Christian we know the Lord can return at any moment, and we know there are a lot of people who do not know the Savior. b/c cause of that we want to spread the word as far as possible. The thing is we need to plant the seed and let that person make their own decision. This is where some Christians drop the ball.

If every one minds his won business and do no think of interfereing with others , there won't be any problem. Assuming that God created men , HE himself has not created the same human beings all over the world and he has created different species of humans with a wide difference in features , thoughts , looks , colour and speech, That being so who is man to compel that every body should think of the same God and think of one religion and speak one languaghe and be of one colour ,Can any great messiah change the colour of all blacks to white.? Are not the whites who follow christ discriminating aainst the coloured people ? When one God has created all the men all over the world, how is it that diferent people have diferent feaures and speak different languages and why not the same God appear before all the diffefrent groups of people and talk to them in thier own language as to what they should do ? And why should man tanslate the scriptures in different languages ? was not God capapble of understanding and speaking all the languages of the people he had created ? Man's arrogance and folly has widely transgressed the limits of common sense and sanity. So he has created problems even to the God. Even the Gods have been changed by "Nature" the God of Gods. Wen nature changes , even the gods of man's creation would be nothing before it. The God came on the scene of this earth long after the grasses appeared and long after man became capable of thinking wildly and imaginatively. The religions bon of man's folly is the cause of all problems for all species of life on this earth and not any God

Christians have themselves become intolerable. As long as Christianity, as well as several of the other "ultimate truths", have as their end and gleefully sought after goal, the END OF THE WORLD, and as long as they believe that their rights are being violated if they are denied the opportunity to use the coercive power of the state to shove their god down every ones throat, you will have to put up with us being in your face. Why should we abandon a forum where we can let you know that you will not be allowed to carry out the silly "End Times" rubbish that you seem to forget would include the rest of us.

Tolerance is dead in some circles but completely alive in others.
What's interesting is that in some circles, "tolerance" means "unable to make up your mind". In other circles, it means others should tolerate me, but I don't have to tolerate the ideas of others.
Tolerance starts with an honest attempt to understand the position, ideas and believes of other people. That takes work, and many people find it incredibly difficult (or threatening) to think outside their own little world view.

We need people to be more knowledgable before they spout off. Thats a huge problem in this country. Too many people have big opinions and small minds

This does not mean that we have to be tolerant of sinful ways. Yes we should spread the good news of Jesus, but that doesn't mean that we have to allow sinful things into our life, and sinful people. We should not promote sinful behaviors, or allow any worldly things into our lives.
