Light tempature moisture are jsut a few that affect plant growth . the vessel in which the plant is housed will also effect its growth. As a plant grows the pot should be changed to accomidate this.
Light how bright ..direct indirect..how many hours is the plant getting?
Tempature....is it temperate all year round will the plant be exposed to frost or snow? extreme high?
Moisture....humidity? low/high? How often will the plant get watered or rained on ? how much rainfall? Will the leaves have moisture on them in the mornings? Will the plant be in enough sunlight to evaporate this moisture in a reasonable amount of time?
Also bugs can play a roll in its development? Will th eplant be exposed to any type of growth enhancement chemicals? Bug sprays?

Look up photosynthesis . The plants need sunlight,water, fertilizers,and the bad CO2. The plants need CO2 just as bad as we need oxygen.
