Did you make it to your due date?

Question

I conceieved on sept 4, 2006 and my doctors tell me that my due date is may 28, 2006. Right now though i am currently 14.5 weeks. If I count 40 weeks on the calender, its earlier that may 28th, its like may 14th. I know pregnancy is really 10 monhts. But how many of you came earlier than your due date with your first child? My cousins due date was oct. 5th and had he healthy baby on sept. 15th....

I not only made it to my due date, but also well beyond.
I was 7 days late with my first, 10 days late with my second, 5 days late with my third and finally 14 days late with my fourth.

Congrats and Good Luck! hopefully you will go right around the due date, but I wouldnt count on it.

It all depends on the baby. I was due March 31st April 1st. I gave birth on March 21st, and they said that the baby was growing rapidly that it changed my due date and nobody informed me. They like to have a ball park figure of this. My first was suppose to be due Oct. 26, then October 15th, than September 29, they kept on pushing back the date, and they might do the same for you. My son was born supposedly at 42 weeks. I had to be induced. They change the due dates around once you are farther into your pregnancy

it seems that your doctor is figuring your due date by your last menstrual period not the date you think you conceived. also, your dont count 40 weeks from the time you conceive cuz you conceive about 2 weeks after your period. my last perion was october 31 2005 and i was due august 7 2006, but i had my baby on august 15 2006 (8 days later than my due date).

My due date is December 9th and I'm still pregnant - however, at the doctor this morning I was checked at 4cm so it should be pretty soon now that I deliver (normal people would be in the hospital at this point, but I can't go until my contractions are at least every 5 minutes for more than an hour)

My due date with my son was February 28, 2001. I had him on March 5, 2001.
He weighed 10 lbs and 8 oz. I think it depends on the woman and every pregnancy is different.

You don't go by your conception date, you go by the first day of your last period. I conceived my daughter back in Sep 2004. My lmp was 9-11-04. My due date was June 20th, 2005. Therefore, since you are off about 14 days, your lmp was probably 14 days before you conceived.

Everyone is different on when they go into labor. I went into labor ON my due-date and delivered 5 hours past it!

Are you sure you conceived on that day? Were you charting to know? Docs go by the first day of your last period when they calculate. Not always accurate since not everyone ovulates like clockwork on cycle day 14. So while they gave me a due date based on the first day of my last period, I know I ovulated like cycle day 18 (I was charting) so my own date, based on conception, is 4 days later than theirs.

HOWEVER, an ultrasound (early on) is the most accurate way to determine due date...and that is based on the size of the fetus. The later it gets in pregnancy, the less accurate date-wise it gets since growth isn't consistant with every fetus.

When I was pregnant with my son my due date was Aug 3 and I had him on July 11. I had to be induced because I had toxemia and it was worsening by the day. The doctor told me to not be alarmed if he had to be on oxygen. He said thats a risk you take but he would be better on the outside rather than dealing with my complications. He had no problems at all and was 6lbs 14oz.
