When a man sells his daughter as a slave, she will not be freed at the end of six years as the men are. If she does not please the man who bought her, he may allow her to be bought back again. But he is not allowed to sell her to foreigners, since he is the one who broke the contract with her. And if the slave girl's owner arranges for her to marry his son, he may no longer treat her as a slave girl, but he must treat her as his daughter. If he himself marries her and then takes another wife, he may not reduce her food or clothing or fail to sleep with her as his wife. If he fails in any of these three ways, she may leave as a free woman without making any payment. (Exodus 21:7-11 )

in the old testament it was accpetable to sell ones daughter as the standards of a female slave in those days was more comparative as to a wife or more exactly a concubine, this is no longer acceptable do to christ establishing the new law and just as the jews were set free from the bondage of the old law, so were they free symbolicly of certain other laws such as these of selling ones child into slavery also i remind u to read later into i believe is deuteronomy it says that something such as selling ones child into slavery is only to be done out of a means of neccestiy or divine instruction which in fact trumps all other laws or traditions of man

Well since this is a 3500 year old Jewish law That we do not live under today. I am not really sure what you expect for Christians to give you much of an answer. Christians have 2 commands one is to love God and the other is to love people as much as themselves. If the only theology one ever learns this is the basics of the faith for believers. If you try to put all Christians in a box like some freak ones you read about in the news papers you will have missed a ton of love and compassion.

if a hebrew was in debt he could sell himself or his children into slavery for 6 years...if they were not treated with respect they were to be set free immediately and the debt paid in full...on the 7th year..the jubillee all slaves were freed.
If you sold your daughter into slavery the owner could make her his concubine..meaning second wife...and she would be treated as royalty while she was living there. If he gave her to his son as a wife the son would honor her as a hebrew and treat her very good..and if the son takes a 2nd wife he would still treat the 1st wife as he did before..still sleeping with her and treating her as royalty. As a concubine she was allowed to return home after 6 years..as a wife she was to stay.

There is never an acceptable"Godly price" to sell your daughter not even into slavery- but sexaul slavery at that!! See back in the old testament, the fathers would sell their daughters over as maidservants to cook, clean, tend to the house, and etc for a period of time in hopes to marry her off.. But since the death of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, we are no longer bound to the laws of the old testament, His death represents freeedom from bondage, slavery and even sin!! To sell your daughter into sexual slavery will be totally against the will of God!! My prayers is that you will seek spiritual counseling, or even get into the House of God and talk to a pastor, if you sell your daughter in to that industry, you have handed her over onto the hands of Satan. I pray for deliverance in your life right now and that the word of God will touch you and heal you of that demonic thought!!!!!!!

This is one of those weird verses in the Old Testament that is hard to imagine today. This is one of the reasons I mainly read the New Testament, which is filled with the love of Jesus. My study Bible does not have any notes on these verses. I thought at first that your question was a crude joke, but it is indeed from Exodus.

This is talking about a dowry, which most nations in the middle east and Asia still practice. We may not agree with it, but it isn't sexual slavery. Perhaps you should do some more research into the book you quote. (I use the word quote loosely, as the above translation is not correct.)

Well, the quote you have posted is from Jewish Law.....NOT Christian! a small but important point.
Secondly....none of the Jews I know sell their daughters at any price.....
Thirdly....if you want to know the current price of a daughter ask a muslim....they have active slave trading in most muslim countries. (in fact a peaceful muslim offered to sell his daughter to my eldest son during his first tour of duty in Iraq) or...
Check with the communist Chinese (as opposed to Tiawanese).....they would rather kill and unwanted daughter and typically do...you might get one cheap !!!
