Perhaps there is some other setting that I can try? I went to Tools>Options>Save and unchecked that "Save Autorecover Info every...xx seconds/minutes" and it is still happening~perhaps there is some setting to change in the control panel? Thanks for your assistance~

Open Word
Click on Tools > Options > Save tab
There is a option about the middle of the window that says "Save Autorecovery info every:" then is followed by a time.
You can increase that time (10 minutes is the standard) or you can uncheck the line and get rid of the autosave altogether.

Hello,

Because that is a backup copy of your document incase the power goes out or something. You can change the intervals in settings if you like, but I don't know how.
