I have a question, My car is almost payed off. This months payment is 310 and the last payment next month will be 45 dollars. Is it right for me to call and ask if I pay the 45 this month and make the final payment of 310 next month??? Do you think they will do that?

All you can do is call and ask. Because its close to the holidays they may just let you. Or you can call and ask about just making an interest payment, But I doubt you have any interest left to pay since your down to your last two payments its probably only principle left.

Doesn't hurt to call and ask them. All they can do is say no. Just remember to remind them with the holiday so near that you could use the money.

You will likely accrue additional interest plus a late fee if you do not pay the scheduled payment of $310 when due.

Usually banks will work with you on requests. I had my car payment set for the first of the month and requested that it be moved towards the middle of the month, they gladly did it for me. In fact, a lot of institutions will let you skip a payment if you've been a good customer. Of course you still have to pay it, they just add another payment to the end of your loan. So in light of this, I can't see why your request would be that difficult for them to comply with.

If you do that, you are not making payments as promissed and will get a 30 day late on your credit. Not Good. The $45 is extra interest so technically, this month is your last payment. You can call and ask but they will tell you the same thing that I did.

You could try calling and asking...it can't hurt. The last place I financed my car through were real jerks and wouldn't work with me at all! Sometimes your finance company will give you a "free" month - basically the ability to put off one month's payment until the end of your loan...check to see if your finance company is one of them.

Yes, but I would make sure you call them. It might be just a little bit more, because the interest is figured daily on most type loans. And when you call them, make sure you get the persons name, and keep track of what was said. Just in case.

Ask them tp combine and split it, or pay half now and half at the end of the month? It may work, or they may say no but at least you tried, or just pay it all next month and pay the late fee too?

If you have been in good standing thus far, I dont see any reason why they wouldnt. besides, the car is almost paid for. Asking isnt gonna hurt anyone. Call and be as sweet as you can be. "Demanding" for them to accommodate you isnt gonna get you a thing.

I presume that if you have been a good customer to date with a sound credit history, then there must be some arrangement that such a process could take place....i mean its your car isn't it!! You practically own it lock, strock, and barrel....

They should let you. Who ever said that you couldn't pay off your car early. The sooner you pay it off the better. And the better for the dealer.
