Some states allow diminished value under your own policy but unless you are driving a very new vehicle and did major damage to it the DV amount will be peanuts. Ask your claims adjuster for details.

If you carry collision insurance, the insurance company will pay for your damages (minus your deductible) even if the accident is clearly your fault. Eventually they will raise your rate and collect back many times that amount in premiums.

I would review your policy. If that doesn't work I would speak with your agent.

Unfortunately each insurance company has their own policies and I can't answer such a general question.

Thank you and good luck!

Read your policy or ask your agent. If you have comprehensive only, it covers other people who have damages. If you have collision, it will cover you for your loss, less your deductible if any.
