Actually we do hear about many people who were crucified in the Roman Empire. For example of the top of my head I can think of the 6,000 followers of Sparticus, (the slave turned army leader) who were captured and then crucified one every 50 feet along the appian way, and Josepheus tells us of People who were crucified that he personally knew who survived.

Perhaps because we live in christian society, and Jesus' crucifixion was them most important one known (both religiously, and historically, as Jesus did change the course of human events whether you think he was God (which he was) or not) we hear about it most.

WEll let's see first of all if you're talking about the Bible then you should read it because it mentions many OTHER ppl being crucified and who they were. Also it may have something to do with the fact that In Christian belief that he was the SON of GOD, our Creator and all, and I don't know about you but to Christians it doesn't get anymore important than that.

AS far as other important ppl you only know about jesus because his life is told ALL the time EVERYWHERE.

I don't know if there are as many stories of other ppl getting crucifed that has rung through the ages like our Christs. probable because there aren't.

Because Jesus was the only one who died for others. He was proved Innocent by all those who judge him, and still get crucified.
by the way there were two other people who were crucified with him, one on his right and one on the left side.
Because he is a major figure in history. That is why.

Because his crucifixion is the only one where it is claimed by Christians that he rose from the dead. However, as the Romans left the crucifixions to rot as an example to others not to mess with the Roman Empire, this is not very likely. You can't rise up from the dead if you were never buried.

Because people are pretty ignorant about history.

Most have never heard of the thousands crucified along the Appian way, after the Sparticus insurrection was suppressed.

Spartacus crucified a Roman soldier-it took him three days to die- which doesn't square with the Hollywood version of Spartacus the freedom fighter.

Because Jesus was the only one who gave His life for all us sinners!

Yep, and Jesus is not really a major peace maker neither. There were people more closer than him to fulfilling the role of the "Messiah".
