The lack of answers tells me that those who believe in the teachings of the Bible think they are above such trivial matters as whether or not the earth is flat or round. Nobody ever said that people had to be stupid to embrace religion, but more and more I find it to be the case.

I know why they say it. There is a verse, about seeing to the ends of the earth, and another about Satan showing Jesus the kingdoms of all the world. Everyone says, if that happened, it must mean the world was flat. Anyone with a brain knows the first is a parable, and the second is Satan working hard to tempt Jesus, come on now.

Because the bible was written by bronze age goat herders and not an omnipotent deity. The religious folks even went as far as to kill a couple guys by the name of Giordanno Bruno and Nicolaus Copernicus to keep up the lie.

I don't remember reading that. You need to explain where it's located in the Bible. Maybe I missed it through the years.
