This could be simply subaceous cysts (small balls of puss under the skin, with a paper thin shell). They are now painful because they have been pinched and squeezed. Did you think they were pimples? NO.
The pain and redness will go away, THEN a doctor can remove them in his office without a trip to the hospital. The doctor will also insist that the cysts be sent to the laboratory for a "biopsy". This means an analysis fo the contents. To be SURE They aren't cancerous.
You want to have peace of mind.... make an appointment and tell the nurse you think you have some cysts under your arm.
Good luck, Trevor.

From what your describing, your lymph nodes are swollen and sore, which means that, yes, your body is fighting off some kind of infection. You need to see a dr to be diagnosed. I know a little boy who was scratched by a cat, with the same problem, who had to have those lymph nodes removed. Dr said it was cat scratch fever.

Yes, it could, or it could be worse. Either way, you need to get to a doctor because it will not likely go away on it's own.
