My chihuahua gets stains under her eyes, and I'm wondering if there is any solution for them. Some groomer told me to give her organic food and bottled water. I already give her bottled water, but organic food?? I've also tried a lot of the stuff they sell at the pet stores, but it doesn't seem to be working. Any ideas?

I have a Lhasa who had the same problem.
Saline based contact lense cleaner does the trick. I wash her face every 2-3 days with water and a wsh cloth then clean the area with a cotton ball soaked with the cleaner.
Followed up by a drop or 2 of artifical tears in her eyes and shes good to go!
It was suggested to me by a breeder and its the only solution that worked for her!

Go to any pet store and buy the tear stain remover they all sell. Neither bottled water nor organic food will stop tear stains from happening.

There is a product called "Show Eyes" that you can order from the Drs. Foster and Smith catalog (www.drsfostersmith.com). It comes in a liquid and wet pads. It works well.

Wipe the area with a warm wet wash cloth until it wipes off.
