problem with adopting, my husband says NO to adopting because when we adopted a Shiba Inu pup of 5 months she destroyed our apt and peed and pooped everywhere and hes scared to get into that area again. What would maybe be a way to get him to change his mind because I wouldnt mind to adopt!!!

oh she went to a fantastic home I didnt just throw her to the pound, I fixed her the best I could then had to fin her a place somewhere else because we had an apt and all she did was bark so we were told she goes or we go so I found her a nice home with an older couple with two acres of fenced in doggy proof pasture!!!

Most little pups tend to be a bit destructive if left to their own devices, unfortunately - though I know that some can be worse than others!

I haven't had much luck searching for a breeder in Maine - found two on this site but they're in Texas & Arkansas:
http://www.puppysites.com/breederByLocation_finnishspitz.shtml

Also found a site listing breeders by state:
http://www.infodog.com/brag/breedbystate/me.htm
but they don't list any Spitz breeders in Maine at all.

The closest breeder that I found, using that site was in NY:
http://www.riverviewacres.com/

Maybe you could contact the Finnish Spitz club for advice & recommendations on breeders?

Regardless of which kind of puppy, at which age, be prepared to train! Puppy Kindergarten classes are a great place to start! Sounds like that's all you Shiba needed...

In any case, looks like there are some Finkie breeders in the New England area. Check this link:

Good luck!

Adopt from a Rescue.

Visit this site and see why:

Someone share that link here, and I really think that people need to see it.
