My mother-in-law and I have worked our way up to liking each other. We didn't at first, not even a little bit. It takes time to build up a relationship with your mother-in-law, just because you are with their son/daughter doesn't mean they will automatically love you. Sometimes they don't think you are good enough, or for that matter that anyone is good enough. It takes work on your part as well as your mother-in-laws.

even if she doesn't she had no choice hehehe... Seriously she's really nice and lovable. Why? your mother in law doesn't like you? That's a common thing to happen, because probably she somehow felt that "here you are a stranger to them, coming into there life and then taking away his precious baby". It takes time, you'll see and of course in your part you also have to excert extra effort to prove your worth and that his son had made the right choice of marrying you.

She's not my mother-in-law but she wants to be.Everytime I see her she says--Have I thanked you lately for being in my son's life? She wants us to get married so bad. He's in denial about getting married. He thinks if we get married everything will change and we'll end in divorce.Myself---I'd like to get married but I'm not gonna push him into it.I guess we'll just live together forever.

My partner says that she does and I think that in my mind or I make myself think that, but truly I think that she hates me. She's always setting up different types of test for me to see how I'll react to them and she's so bossy and dramatic that it's aggravating towards me. I think that she is trying to push me away from her son.

I never have worried about it, I am polite to her and she is to me, but we are not close. I feel like she is kinda invasive of our privacy, but I guess it could be worse.
