Try flossing with Glide floss. Its made for teeth that are really close together. Its the only floss that works for me. Also, take some ibuprofen like Motrin or Advil to help reduce the swelling on your gums. It will also help with the pain. Its really important to get your teeth really clean esp with braces because it is so easy to get cavities. Don't give up and good luck!

I had braces and my teeth were the smae way i talked to my orthodontists about it and they did a little bit of filing in between my teeth. It sounds bad but you dont feel a thing and you can cant really tell the difference except for flossing because there is no gap or anything they just make enough room for you to floss between them.

Gurl, I feel your pain. I had braces a long time ago and that is the most annoying thing. Try taking some Tylenol to alleviate the pain and then rinse with mouthwash for about a minute to loosen up any buildup. Then try to floss. If it hurts too much, then just do the best you can and hang in there.

you HAVE to floss, i know it hurts, but i had braces for almost 2 years and i hated flossing, but if you don't, you'll pay later.
i will tell you that a kind of oral-b floss that has a stick on the front so you can thread it through your wires works great. i'm sorry, but i can't remember what it's called! it comes in individual packages and you just throw it away when you're done.
i know it's a pain in the @ss sometimes, but just remember when you're done you'll have a WONDERFUL smile!

You should call your orthidontist. he can adjust them for you.
Do you have sensitive teeth maybe? Are they new? Like just fitted? I had braces when I was young... They take a while to get used to thats for sure. Dont give up on them. They will work out in the long run. Good luck!

Braces will hurt when new,and after they are adjusted. Try a water pick to help clean your teeth. Also use a mouth wash with fluoride to help. This is very critical to keep your beautiful smile. Sensodine tooth paste too.

You could try a water pick.
But if you don't have one/can't get one, you just gotta do it. I know it hurts, I had them before. But the pain from tightening only lasts a few days, tops. If it hurts afterwards, your orthodontist probably made them a LITTLE too tight.

that sucks. tell your dentists they are too tight and loosen them. ask him/her to suggest a numbing agent you can apply to your teeth so they won't hurt so much.
