In Britain, 69% of those questioned say they believe US policy has made the world less safe since 2001, with only 7% thinking action in Iraq and Afghanistan has increased global security.

The finding is mirrored in America's immediate northern and southern neighbours, Canada and Mexico, with 62% of Canadians and 57% of Mexicans saying the world has become more dangerous because of US policy.

In Britain 71% of voters now say the invasion was unjustified, a view shared by 89% of Mexicans and 73% of Canadians.

In a world filled with adversaries, that is one half trying to outsmart the other half, I am reminded of Newton's law that says: " for each action, there is a equal and opposite reaction."

Do you really believe these so called surveys reveal anything important, other than the average slug has his chance of offering an opinion based on what he thinks he knows. The fact is, globally, there is a great deal of danger in the world, evidenced by what happened on 9/11. America, and it's president recognize this and is attempting to destroy it whenever and wherever necessary to get the job done.

The adversaries of the US and any other free country, are not sitting idly by while plans are being enacted to hurt them. They are making plans too. This is quite evident in Iraq, where the tail wags the dog. The US does very little successful planning in destroying the enemy. It has failed to put together a strategy that will destroy it's enemy. However, the insurgency seems to have taken the lead in that department. They plan the attacks, and the US reacts. Reacts doesn't get it, we need leadership in Iraq who knows how to act! So, it's not a case of the US being right and the rest of the world being wrong, it is simply that the US has yet to find the right strategy that will destroy this enemy, forever more!

Most assuredly, world opinion towards the US, will swing back to the US, once it has destroyed this enemy. So you see, the criticism towards the US isn't about policy as much as it is about not destroying this enemy and it's failed policy!

And while this poll was being asked, did anyone ask if the world is a safer place because of the terrorists we are fighting against? If the Brits are so against the War, why are they there with us? Is it just because the Poll Takers are asking the wrong people? Gee, maybe the world is less safe because we are making the terrorists upset because they don't intimidate us all like they did before 9/11 and we started kicking their Butts. Heres a Poll I would like to be asked; "Do you think if the Whole World would lend a hand in ferreting out these Terrorists, that the world would be a safer place by now, instead of all the BS excuses a lot of "Our Allies" are giving us for not lending a hand?" Stick that in your Poll Takers hands and count it!

Conspiracy? No. AIPAC is between the three best lobbies in Washington (NRA and AARP) are the others. imagine about it, you won't be able to eliminate an American's gun, won't be able to eliminate funds from the elderly, and would't end sending help and guns to Israel. The Jewish inhabitants of the US is in straight forward words 2% despite the indisputable fact that the US politicians continuously help this Jewish usa because they prefer campaign money. The christian top feels Jewish administration of Israel is significant for the 2d coming of Christ, so that you've were given yet another team pushing for help. All in all, Israel is a huge (if no longer the numerous) impression human beings overseas coverage...

Though I don't necessarily agree with what Bush and his administration are doing.. and yes I think that we have created more terrorist then we helped get rid of, but I'm not runing this country so all I can do is learn and listen.. I'm not out there dealing with it, so I don't know what is actually going on.. all I have are my opinions.. hopefully the Administration has all the facts...-
and your little snide comments shows your ignorance

I suspect your ending is correct. The history of the twentieth century certainly suggests so. Our government, with all its faults and foibles, generally winds up being right when Guardian readers think otherwise. We tried staying home in 1914, and in 1918 we warned that onerous reparations demanded from Germany would backfire. We not as a government but as individual citizens sent firearms to Britain in 1940 because they were not as barbaric as we and had instituted gun control, and had ensured "peace in our time." And your criticism, I note, is written in English, nicht Deutsch. So now when it comes to the bloody little wars that nobody wants to fight, instead of the U.K. first and the U.S. later, it's the other way around. So gloat all you want, and leave the leadership to those who can lead.

first of all mexico and canada shouldn't even count, its like they don't even participate in whats going on in the world, mexico's government is SO corrupt, thats why they are all illegally hopping over the border to live in the US! as for England, they have a HUGE muslim population now and many of there newspapers are biased so of course they would have that perspective, you might want to do a little more research, and just so you know the statistics came out for the most generous country yesterday, guess who is number 1? AMERICA

Mate... I hear ya. I know what youre saying, but I am a citizen and in no position to change what happened...except I voted. And if you must know, tell the English people most of us here are confused and concerned about security in the world today too...but those in power, are the ones who must and should bear the brunt of people's grief.

I dont feel responsible since if it was me in power, I guarantee you it would have not gone anything like is now. None of it. Most Americans feel its time for change, and have begun the process to make it...give it time, we spoke up. It will unravel the way it will...but us citizens are not to blame.

Once again, I am anwering you only so I can have another opportunity to tell you how much of an idiot I think you are. You are a coward that hides behind your computer and has never contributed anything to society, not even in your beliefs. You chew up the 1st amendment like a $1 menu cheeseburger and steal the oxygen of those who are try to change something for the better. If you agree with a survey taken in a different country, please feel free to live in that country, we don't need you here I promise. Now go enjoy that freedom of speech nancy boy, enjoy.

Do not make mistake. Policies are made by government therefore there is no need for public to think about it. Let government decide. As you can see public won't bother about anything.

You better ask this with the government.

They're not OUR policies, they're the governments policies imposed upon us. Individual Americans have no say in what "we're" doing to the rest of the world. Please don't bomb me because of what the government does!! It wasn't my choice!! I certainly don't feel safer, I feel that we are more likely to be attacked since most of the world hates the US now!
