Yes, there are several site offering fre VIN checks but there is no guarantee
about their legitimacy. The only true free vin check site is nicb.org. You can check
for free if your car has been reported as stolen.

Although they are several sites claiming they offer good Carfax substitutes
oftentimes the reports they provide are very basic. The only way to get a legitimate
Carfax for free or cheap is to ask the car seller. If that's not possible there are
reliable cheaper sources. It's free to to check the VIN if it exists, but you'll have to
pay for a vehicle history report. They're cheaper than CarFax and the information is just as good.
Just visit this site to learn more http://bit.ly/CHEAPCARFAX only $5 per report.

There are no free complete VIN Checks online. The nicb.org site provides
free check for stolen cars. If you need a complete VIN Check, you can get
a cheap alternative here : http://www.vinaudit.com/coupon=Y_50OFF
You only need to pay $4.99. Not bad at all!

I don't think that there is a 100% free site. Even us dealers pay for VIN checks.

Remeber you get what you pay for. If you are looking to spend thousands of dollars on a vehicle, do you really want to take the cheap route and save $20 now. Could be a very expensive decision.
