The people who post about Atkins and what it is and what it isn't astound me when they just have no idea how wonderful this diet is. I have been on Atkins almost 3 years and love this way of eating. It is NOT unhealthy either. It isn't NO carbs either. How can it be when the only foods without carbs is meat. It is just limiting certain foods with high carbs. Plus induction (first 2 weeks) is the most stict carb wise.

Ok for snacks. On induction your limited to 20 carbs a day. On induction you can actually snack on pepperoni, boiled eggs, some cheeses, you can take lunch meat (the kind with no carbs) and spread cream cheese on them and roll them up *do however limited processed foods like lunch meat* of course you can eat meat of any kind until you are full.

This website has many wonderful snacks the one with the star * are safe for induction.http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/snack_recipes.html

I lost 50 pounds and my husband 80 and kept it off and I weigh 110 and never gain one pound and eat until I am full and never limit portions only eat legal foods for my way of eating.

Best Atkins Snacks

I don't use the atkins diet I have had success with the No White Rule. This is a lifestyle change not a diet. You need carbs to survive it takes a minimum of 50 carbs a day for your brain to operate properly. You will need to eat complex carbs that contain fiber not simple carbs like what is in any processed foods and sugar. my low carb snacks of choice are. most vegetables except corn, beans and beets. or if you want something salty pork rinds are about the lowest carb snack you can find. if you are interested in trying the no white diet email me and I will email you a copy of the diet plan.

Don't do Atkins! I know this isn't the answer you are looking for, but it isn't the best diet. While it may have results at first, you need carbohydrates to survive--and you do NOT need all the high-fat red meats that can be on the Atkin's diet. People give carbohydrates a bad rap, but if you eat complex carbs with fiber (which is an extremely important part of our diet as well), they are good for you. Also, red-meats are often high in saturated fats, paving the way for putting you at a higher risk for heart disease!

id switch to the south beach diet if i was you after another week or two...

low carb peanut butter and celery, meats, cheeses, fruits and veggies..you cant go wrong/

diets dont do it baby!!!!!!!!!! whats wrong with you people!!!!!
if people would exercise more they would not have to worry so darn much about food...Are you really serious about doing this? We are talking about hard work. Putting down your little debbies, getting off your butt and not only going on a diet but EXERCISING!!! Even if you lose the weight it will come right back if you do not have the desire and motivation to not only look cute but to be healthy. it is going to take alot of inner strength I can assure you of that.

1.) eat 4-5 small meals a day

2.) drink lots of water

3.)exercise every day

4.) do not eat 4-6 hours before you sleep.

Skeeter has pretty much covered it.

I also like feta-stuffed jalapenos from Costco. One net carb per pepper.

I like pork rinds, but only the Baken-etts brand (I hate Porky's, I think they're gross). Once you are out of induction you could try them with salsa.

Dont do it. The Atkins diet is unhealthy. Your body needs carbs for energy. Just limit them to brown rice, wheat bread, and whole grains. Also, once you get off of it your body will go right back to the way it was. Try oatmeal and/or eggwhites for breakfast, turkey sandwich on wheat for lunch with some veggies and soy crisps, meat and veggies for dinner with some brown rice or baked potato. For snacks try yogurt, hummus with crackers, fruit and cheese or nuts. Diets are DUMB. Reward yourself on Fridays with pizza for dinner so you dont feel deprived.

Nothing. Change your eating habits to healthy for lifetime. That is the only way you will lose weight and keep it off!
