I have a 43 inch chest (I am 5' 9"), but the side of my ribs have no muscle. I can actually feel my ribs. The muscle I trying to develop is the boxer's muscle (serratus anterior). Can anybody suggest some exercises?

Boxing movements is not a option because my gym has no equipment.

You need to be concentrating on core exercises. Any exercise that makes you need to tighten your core will build that muscle. I have found that kickboxing and the whole motion involved with kicking, especially roundhouse kicks, really focuses on the core. Check out some pilates exercises, like the pilates 100 or plank. Try doing your usual exercises but incorporate things that make it harder, like doing chest exercises laying on the ball. Just some ideas for you.
