I am moving there soon and I am interested in a nice, quiet neighborhood (with not too many high rises). I'd also like to be near the red/blue subway lines. Which neighborhoods should I be looking at? Many thanks for the advice!

There are several great areas of brooklyn to check out: Williamsburg (very hip and young), DUMBO (very trendy and pricey), Greenpoint (developing fast, more waterfront property will be coming soon), Carroll Gardens (more neighborhood-y, nice local stores).
Also, don't go by colors when talking about the subway. There really are no colors, it's letters and numbers. Colors will easily get you lost, because they all go in different directions!

Here are some nice neighborhoods to look into.
If you want to be closer to Manhattan, I highly recommend Park Slope, Williamsburg, DUMBO, and even some of the gentrification areas in Bed-Stuy.
Bay Ridge and Bensonhurst are nice options too.

Ariele, i'm particular somebody lives there yet darn why are there a good number of ex-new yorkers right here. 0.5 of West Palm sea coast is ex-New Yorkers - Brooklyn - For pete's sake it incredibly is the South Florida and we don't care how they do it in huge apple.

move to the flatbush area or eastern parkway or Broadway junction (east new york)
