Yes, they all hold about the same position, except for the deacon.

....or as they used to say, "men of the cloth".

Most CHRISYIANS DO NOT KNOW THESE EITHER AND i THINK THAT IS BECUZ PREACHERS DO NOT WANT THEIR FLOCK GOING THERE CUZ IT ALSO SPEAKS OF THEM BEING ACCOUNTABLE IN THOSE LETTERS.

dEACONS ARE THE OPPS group established in Acts where there was too much physical labor to be done that the Apostles did not even have enough time to pray, things like being sure the widows got a fare share. Apostel occupied the position now called elders which were teachers. All are required to be people who are of good character. There is no requirment for deacons to be able to teach but elders must be good at it. Teaching is mentioned as a God given gift which every school child will bear out some can do it and some can not. Remember this that those who could teach were also very caring people. Some were disiplinarians but if you visited them after class one would find them very empathetic.

There are some teachers who also are good administraors and these are to become Bishops. That is a complete list of all offices listed in scripture and the place it is spelled out is in the letters to TIM. For further information about accountability see Mat 18

Just read your other answers and as u can c they do not know?? interesting huh. Do you understand now why so many Christians are very poor witnesses???

They are offices & also describe functions:
1. Elder- oversees the spiritual health of the body (greek word-presider)
2. Pastor- a preaching elder (greek word-shepherd)
3. Deacon-servant (greek word-servant), oversees to make sure the physical needs of others are met (orphans, widows, poor)

Check out Ephesians 4 for a pastors role, & 1 Timothy 3 & Titus for the others.
Stephen is inaccurate, although his church may have it set up that way. Biblically speaking, a deacon has a different positon than an elder.

Pastor, preacher, and priest are all the same just a different title depending on the church's denomination. Deacon is usually a church elder who helps out.

Denominational differences such as...Lutheran Church has Pastors and a board of elders. (elders are members who are chose to serve as a governing board) Catholics have Priests. Preacher is one who preaches, more of a slang term.

They all have different roles in their respective churches. Some have more spiritual "power" than others.
