when my daughter had a weight issue in high school, we tried this diet and it worked with flying colors.
It doesn't require exercise but I suggest it if you want those 40 pounds off by Christmas.
It does require eating every 3 hours, listen.
IMPORTANT
get up early and have your self a half of grapefruit or one egg or banana or some small half breakfast meal or a half cup of cereal with milk..
Then three hours after that have an apple or again something small. Granola bar, walnuts or almond. never peanuts (high in cholesterol) half of sandwich, etc.
Three hours later throw a half of baked potato with all the trimmings if you like.
Three hours later, yogurt. drink what like except liquor. 1 cup of your favorite vegetable, small green or friut salad.
I gave her things she could put in her mouth while she was in school such as: a granola bar, fourth piece of apple, raisins, slim-fast bar, etc.
When it's time to sleep please don't worry about the three hours, get your rest.
This method may take a minute or two for your body to get used to but if you can persevere and take conrtol over the demand of the body you'll do well.
Every time your body wants to do something negative to throw you off your goal. Tell it to shut up you are in control from here on. I 've listened to you for to long enough as it is.
IF you chose to exercise as well, start off walking, then increase as your goal become more demanding.
Never forget your goal. I hope you understand what I meant by portions of foods.
Why this works, because you eat evey three hours your body is constantly digesting and metabolizing . So its burning fat always. you will feel great and sleep well.
Much success

I lost 40 pounds once by
*callesthetics first thing every morning (six mornings a week)
*having slim fast for breakfast and lunch, and a dinner I enjoyed
*not snacking during the day (I made sure my locker was full of slim fasts and I had no loose change for snacks)
*walking to work (or school) and whereever else I could.
*Enjoying life by doing active things I liked outdoors.
My goal wasn't to loose the weight, it was to get physically fit. I had goals for things I wanted to be able to do in the fifteen minutes (number of pushups or jumping jacks and other exercises, distance running, things like that)
At fourteen it may be more fun to join a sports team. Dancing can also get you into shape. You might practice in the morning and after school. Pick an active hobby you enjoy. The good feelings it brings helps your metabolism.
Don't worry about the weight-height thing. It's a lot of nonsense. It's much better to concentrate on how well you feel. Trying to loose weight too much can actually make your metabolism slow down.
And see a doctor first (she'll be able to explain metabolism more) or the PE teacher or nurse at school. What works for some people may not work or even be safe for other people.

Try this it was invented by a dietitian for obese people who need an operation in two weeks time.
There is enough for one week so freeze half freshly made to last the week.
My hubby cheated and did it for a whole 6 months went from a 40in waist to a 32in without to much effort.
Operation Soup
Ingredients.
3 large onions
1 large or two small green peppers
1 bunch of celery
½ head of green cabbage
1 leek
2 tin chopped tomatoes
1 packet of French onion soup (any brand)
3 vegetable stock cubes (I use oxo)
Cut all vegetables into bite size pieces if your not going to liquidize.
Place all in a large pot add enough water to cover.
Simmer until vegetables are cooked add more water if necessary.
NOTE
To be eaten as a two meal replacement (largest and the smallest).
You can still have a light lunch or light evening meal.
Should not exceed 5 days at a time and 10 days a month.
You will pass more water so make sure you keep up your water intake.

I am 5'3" and weighed 205, but lost 67 pounds in four months. How? EATING HEALTHY AND EXERCISING. There is no magic silver bullet. Pills don't work. Just clean out your cabinets and fridge of bad food and buy fresh fruits and vegetables, chicken and fish. I personally ate shrimp and salmon quite a bit as main dishes. Exercise at LEAST 60 minutes a day. It sounds like a lot but: 1. if it is worth it to you, you will find a way to do it, and 2. you can break the time up and do 30 minutes in the morning and 30 minutes in the evening. Also - drink TONS of water. You will lose a lot right away doing that.
It definitely works, and is the healthy way to do it.
BEST OF LUCK TO YOU! I know your struggle, and you CAN do this! :o)

1. Exercise is important. Do 30 minutes per day of cardio, jogging or running or eliptical machine or a bike. Anything like that works. Exercise will get your metabolism up.
2. Eat less than you burn off. Simple as that :). It helps to write down what you eat, because most people don't realize how much they eat or how fatty some of the foods they eat are. Try to keep saturated fat consumption as low as possible, and AVOID trans fats at all costs. Eat fats that are unsaturated. Make sure you include 5 to 9 servings of fruits & veggies each day. Fiber is important to keeping you fuller, so try to get 25g of fiber per day as well. Eat lean proteins and complex carbs.
If you drink soda, drink diet soda only. Regular soda is just full of empty calories that add to weight gain. Or better yet, switch to water! :)
Losing 40 lbs will take 4 to 6 months if you become healthier in your diet, don't try any diet pills or anything because it's not healthy to lose more than really 2 lbs per week, and you'll gain it back right away if you use diet pills. Do it the real way and be proud of yourself! :)

The two things that you need to do to lose weight are cut back on calories and exercise. It is that simple.
Do at least 45 minutes of cardio 5 -6 times a week. You can start out with walking and work up to more intense activity as you lose weight.
For the diet, cut out foods that are high in sugar, or if one of the first ingredients is high fructose corn syrup or white flour. If you can cut your diet by 100 - 300 calories per day, you will start to lose pounds.
At your age, you might want to ask your parents about seeing a doctor or nutritionist so that you have all the vitamins and nutrients you need to grow.

First, Don't worry too much, your body hasn't fully developed. Its possible for you to end up growing out of it. I was overweight all through Jr High, then around 11th grade I grew and lost weight, I didn't really try to, it just seemed to happen.
But, if you want to work at it, try low-carb. Some say it's not the best but it worked when I dropped 40lbs in 2 months. When you're hungry, snack on cold cuts, do a lil daily excercise, aerobics or whatever works. Sugar-free works too, Diet Soda, etc. It also helps if you have a coach. A best friend, or parent to keep on ya. I had my friend calling me 3 times a day to check up on what I was eating. Good luck

OMG there are such rude idiots out there!!! DO NOT listen to their lies!!! You are ALREADY a beautiful person, and making yourself healthy is a great decision!!
30 minutes of your heart rate being at 65-80% of it's target heart rate will get you where you wanna be. Also, do two days (at least 24 hours rest inbetween) of resistance training. . .you don't have to have a gym member ship or a ton of equipment! Do lunges, squats, pushups, tricept dips, 'the plank', etc. Using your own body weight is plenty sufficient. It's gonna use all those little stabilizer muscles, too. The more muscle you have, the more calories you'll burn.
Now I need to go take my own advice and get my workout done!!
Good luck!!

Under the supervision of a physician. The most successful weight loss programs that retain the weight loss are all under the care of a doctor. Don't go on a diet - change the way you eat, what you eat, and exercise to burn more calories. Good luck, and good for you!
