He plays online games constantly, he says thats its to "escape the stress." But when hes playing for hours at a time its too much, and seems like theres nothing i can do to help. He does things like ignoring me, he doesnt help around the house or anything. Sometimes when i try to talk to him hes so consumed in his little world that he doesn't notice me. He seems so lifeless, emotionless just staring into the laptop. His life isn't that bad that he has to completely shut himself down from me, friends, or family.
I'm sad because its not like we go out anymore or even do anything. For instance, yesterday we were suposed to decorate the tree but he just sat there and didn't help. I thought that it would be something fun we could do together and have fun, but sadly that didn't happen. I just don't know what to do. Can someone help?

video games are very addictive. Try and get him to stop playing all video games. Cause if he plays one he will just keep at it.

Well, I have the same problem with my husband sometimes.I just go do my own thing while he's playing his video games or on his computer. He's not on there all day though, he has a job. My husband say the exact same thing about the stress thing.

Look be happy that video games has his attention and not the whores in the street. I had this same problem with my wife. She complained everytime I played playstation but I was always home and I ignored her sometime which was wrong but I would rather be guilty of playing to much playstation than cheating. Well any wayz she start complaining about every little thing so I started cheating on her and stayed out all of the time. There is no excuse for my actions but had I been in my own game zone chillin we would probably be together now.

Simple hes addicted to the internet. Thats what happens to addicts they shut everyone out. Sounds like he might have a serious problem. I say do a family intervention maybe you should take away his laptop while he is sleeping and hide it somewhere so you two can have a serious discussion.

my husband went thru that faze 2 yrs ago. i finally just let him do it. i figured it was better than him hanging around the bars and at least he was home. he got tired of it after a while, i just sat on the couch with him and watched sometimes i got into it with him. the more you complain about it the more he will do it.

As a guy who likes playing video games, I would say try different tactics to distract him from his gaming. My wife will get a little naked, or manually manipulate my manhood. That usually takes the focus off the game. If not...dump him.

Wow as much as I like video games

Girlfriend > Video Games

That guy is an idiot, that special someone is FAR greater than video games.

Let me guess, he plays World of Warcraft doesn't he? haha

Live with your video zombie or dump him for a real person.
Both are uncomfortable choices. Not all choices in life are as easy as "Chocolate, strrawberry or vanilla?"

he sounds like a loser. find someone who loves you more than the video games or anything else. i think you could definatly do better than that. find someone who likes the same things you do so you can do things together and have fun.
