If its frozen raw then you can cook and reheat later.
Its only when its cooked then frozen that you cant freeze it again, or if its raw and then you refreeze without cooking.
The reason for this is the way bacteria reproduce and multiply and also how they are killed. Any biologists out there please correct me but in simple terms its like this:
Basically. In raw meat there are a few germs - lets say 10, this many wont hurt you.
When frozen they become inactive and cant reproduce. As they defrost they reach the optimum temperature/moisture etc and become active again, so now you have (lets say they multiply by 10 ) 100 of the little blighter's, this 100 probably wont hurt you either.
If you now cook them you will kill most of them , so you will probably end up with 10 again. Which is nice and safe to eat.
If you allow it to cool, as it cools down it will once again reach optimum temperature and reproduction starts again. You now may have 100 of them again.
Probably safe to eat it cooled down.
If you now refreeze it with the 100 germs inside they will stop reproducing until it comes back out of the freezer, when once again it will defrost, reach optimum temperature and yes - they are at it again.
you would need to reheat thoroughly to get rid of them all again (this is why you see notes on packets that say you must reheat properly before eating)
So this is all safe to eat. (providing it was safe in the first place!)
If however you defrost raw food (the 10 germs turns to 100) so we have 100 again, and then refreeze, those 100 will stop dead in the freezer but start again when you take them out and do a second defrost. So now we have 1000. Even cooking may not get rid of these.
The same for cooked food. If its in the freezer cooked, with 10 germs inside, it defrosts and ends up with 100 germs inside. You refreeze and the next time you defrost you have 1000....
In a nutshell. As long as your haddock is raw, you can cook it and refreeze to eat later.,

Don't ever freeze anything that you have already cooked off. But in this case you can wrap the left over haddock in wrap and refrigerate for up to 2 days and reheat either in the oven or under a grill.

Don't refreeze it!! How about you store the remainder in the fridge and eat it in a salad or something another day?

Just give your extra fish to the dog it will be good for it as it is you.
why go to the bother of freezing and thawing when the fish will not be as good.To answer your question as long as the fish is properly cooked you can freeze it, but chill it in the fridge first before freezing it .

you can actually refreeze the fish (or meat) as long as it's been thoroughly cooked.
