In Jan. of this year I got Bells Palsy. The right side of my face was paralyzed and the right side of my tongue was numb. I went to the emergency room and they sent me to a neurologist who put me on an ant-viral antibiotic. He told me what causes Bells Palsy is a nerve behind my ear had infection and swelling. This nerve controls the muscles in my face. I took the meds. and it took about 2 months for the muscles to start working and my face to lose the drooping around the mouth and eye. So hang in there and everything will return to normal on that. Shingles affects people differently. I know some people who have had them and it depends on where they are and how severe. My sister has them in the small of her back. The only time she breaks out is when she gets under a lot of stress. Try to have your life as stress free as possible, and hopefully they will diminish.

Shingles are painful, I've had them once before. The Bell's is a sort of reaction to the shingles as Bell's affects the nerves in your face and the shingles are irritating those nerves. Is it giving your face a slack appearance? Is the pain of the shingles lessened with the Bell's? Bell's goes away with time but may remain thru the course of your shingles which can take several months to heal. You can look up shingles thru a Yahoo search, it's a virus related to chicken pox. I hope you have a speedy recovery.
