who asked this question, seems a 'bit' obvious. Ohh.. i need to have a lie down.....

But if you think about it compression is simply a way of storing information and the ability to restore it so that you can re-use it. the algorithm to restore or compress can be as complicated as you like and will determine the final size of the compressed object.
For instance the properties of 'the world' could be stored using 5billlion billion billion etc bits of information.the algorythm to restore it could be 0= empty 1= the world?
