We have 3 dogs in our house. Rotweiller, doberman and a poodle. But none of them barks to strangers. Usually, dogs bark whenever they hear the presence of a stranger. As if they don't care whoever comes into our house.

All dogs have different personalities. It is a little strange that out of all 3 of your dogs, none of them bark at strangers. If you've had them since they were puppies, and had strangers walking by the house all the time or people visiting at your house often, they probably got used to it. If you adopted them when they were older than puppies, you may have no idea who raised them before you, and the past owner could have made a big deal about it whenever the dog(s) barked, and scared them into not barking anymore. Danny is right, dogs can sense when something's wrong and if a stranger is 'bad', and maybe they can tell from the voices and actions of the 'strangers' coming into your house that they aren't 'bad' strangers. I'm sure these people coming into your house aren't strangers to you, and it's possible the dogs can tell. But despite that, just like humans, they have different personalities. Some humans are shy, not very brave, or less likely to help others in danger. Some humans are very outgoing and brave, some are paranoid that everyone is bad, etc etc. So there are many reasons your dogs wouldn't bark at strangers, and if you feel thats important that they protect the house, I would suggest you look into getting some sort of alarm system. Even if your dogs do bark at someone robbing your house, the person may not care and the dogs arent gonna go pick up the phone and call 911 (although I have read a story about a dog who called 911 when it's owner had a heart attack, but he was trained to do so.)
Hope this helps a little! :)

Sounds to me that your dogs are very well behaved. Count yourself lucky that you dont have to listen to them barking at every little thing they hear. Dont worry about just anyone coming into your house. Dogs have a GREAT abillity of knowing a good person from a bad person. And even though you think they would let the escaped prisoner in, they wont, lol.

I have no idea why!! LOL
My two dogs don't bark at strangers either, sometimes the littler one will let out a little yip at a stranger walking by out side. But that's it, they also don't bark at the door bell or when someone knocks on the door.
My bigger dog she LOVES everyone!! She just wants to lick them all up lol So if she makes a sound at a stranger it will be a whimper because she wants to go see him/her and visit.
But I'm sure if my bigger dog saw someone breaking into our house she would do something. Dogs know who are good people and who are bad.
Like one time my Dad was yelling at me so my bigger dog went between him and I. She though he was going to hit me or something I guess, but she was there and she was saying "You hit her, and I'll bit you"
So dogs just naturally know what people are good and bad.

well i had a chow german shepard mix that never barked! but you had to watch him especially around strangers because he would sneek up behind them and if he did not like the way they smelled or you did not say anything to him he would bite them. after a while people realised that just decause he did not bark does not mean that he would not protect me at all cost.

So don't think that just because they do not bark that they will not protect you.

you sould be grateful that your dogs do not bark. the dogs that i have now bark ALL NIGHT LONG. if the wind blows a leaf across the yard they bark at it. my male rottweiler barks at the dirt when he kicks it up in the air!!!

Sounds like you have some very trusting dogs there! Consider yourself quite lucky. My dog will only shush until she sees who the person is, sniffs them, etc.

invest in a mini dachshund that will get your dogs to bark or try and kill the mini because they never shut up.
