Try to use a box approx. 6""x8"x12", wrap in plain brown shipping paper. Masking tape is okay to use, and you can tie it with shipping string. Make sure you have his correct address and unit number on the shipping label, the post office will let you know what the postage is. Depending on where he's deployed, it could take several weeks for him to get it, but he will. (Mail is a high priority for service-men, they might cut off your food, and you might not get to sleep much, but the mail always get to them). Tell your brother thanks from me for his service!

You can use any kind of box but if it has other writing on it black it out with a marker. You can get free flat rate boxes at the post office but I found that wasn't always the best rate because they don't hold much. They are good if sending just a few things or really heavy things so get a few the next time you go to the post office. Do NOT send it priority. It actually takes longer (because it's first loaded but last unloaded) and costs morethan parcel post. As far as tape I always just used regular packing tape but I wrapped it arund the whole box a couple of times so it wouldn't break open and so my husband would know if it was tampered with. We also had a routine that I'd send a magazine in every package and on a certain page I'd tape a packing list (so he knew nobody had gotten in it because unfortunately there are some jerks who do that) and also if he needed cash (which they do at times) I'd put that on another one. And you can send as many as you want. I went in one day with 10 boxes of all sizes. (it was xmas and him and a few of his buddies that never got anything were about to run out of everything and they were at a base that didn't have anything sincethey were infantry) I never had a problem. Be aware too though that there are 2 customs forms and they seem to change at random what they want but that only takes a few minutes to fill o ut so isn't that big a deal.
By the way my husband ALWAYS got his and they never took more than about 2-3 weeks depending on how big the box was. (apparently the bigger ones get put on the plane last)
Just wanted to add one thing.....don't get insurance on it. When mailing my husband stuff I asked about it and was told that it was insured until it left the US but after that it wasn't so you pretty much would be guaranteed that the post office would argue it happened overseas and you'd be out the insurance money too......of people I knew who placed claims none got the money back.

I would almost always use the flat rate boxes. They don't hold much but you don't have to use tape. I always got insurance on my packages w/ CD, movies, batteries, etc because if he doesn't receive it you will get your money back. But you can use any size box. I used the clear packing tape. Wrap it up good!!!! I always picked up a couple of the customs forms and took them home w/ me and filled them out as I was packing. It's easier and quicker when you get to the post office. It took my husband about 2-3 wks because he was infantry and they weren't always with the unit. Just make sure you don't send alcohol or porn and you should be alright!! I've also sent more then one package at a time because sometimes one will get there before the other. Thanks for you and your brother's sacrifice.

Hi there,
I thank your Brother for serving our Country and I thank your family too.
I just sent some boxes to a troop in Iraq last week and it was easy. The Post Office has a one flat rate priority box. It is a flat rate of $8.00 for the rectangular boxes. With it being a flat rate, it doesn't matter how heavy it is. Check out the link below. Also, these boxes don't require tape, that have sticky edges that won't come apart once you seal them.
Good luck

I sent any size box to my husband. just make sure it is in plain brown shipping paper and taped with regular shipping tape. Put the address in big letters in the middle and on the back so it can be seen on both sides of the package. Remember nothing that will melt or ruin, no alcoholic, or pornographic materials to be sent but everything else can go. Tell your brother we thank him for serving our country. God Bless

The post office has special rates for packages going to our troops. You can send them just about anything size doesn't really matter. I sent my friends over there cases of TP baby wipes and all kinds of thins that were large and bulky. Make sure you have your cousins unit and post correct. Also, it once took my husband 3 weeks to get a package from california and he was just stationed over in Georgia. It's just the way military mail works sometimes.

it is great that you probably did this. i'm no longer so effective even if that is easily names that we are called, extra so recommendations and recommendations. as an example, monks are called pedophiles, we worship Mary and the Pope, we are no longer Christians, we are cannibals, we pray to saints, cultists, satanists, and evidently, the whore of Babylon. those rude, boastful and infantile comments receives them no the position- so I fail to work out the point for why human beings call us those names. Even after answer after answer retaining that we do not worship Mary, they nonetheless bypass on retaining that we do, like they have some divine reason to have self belief that. they're only misinformed- and that is with the help persons Catholics to set those questions immediately. Ever be conscious at the same time as a Protestant asks a question about the Catholic church, many Catholics answer thorough and specified solutions, the right answer- even if the Protestant nonetheless alternatives yet another Protestant answer because the suited answer? i imagine that is person-friendly insecurities. all of us understand that none of those names or claims are genuine, and that i have self belief that searching for the right solutions from fellow Catholics the following in R&S will purely make us more advantageous. Protestants are lacking a lot- they don't seem purely lacking the easily body and Blood of Christ, they're lacking so a lot extra, God's genuine presence. ignore with regard to the attacks, through the indisputable fact that is purely blatant lies.
