Actually... planting of crops pre dates wiccan. It's the natural cycle of things and common intuition of the developed man through trial and error. The addition of gods and goddesses and ritual to the season was only added after. You'd be better off asking Christians about Christmas Trees and Yule Logs. Those were wiccan/celtic things adopted and changed to christian... not harvests for goodness sake.

Well not actually. Wicca is a religion, being in-tune with Nature is a way of life. As a Wiccan even I know the difference. Not every Naturalist is Wiccan.

That is stupid. Just because we plant a crop to grow at the right time does not make it using Wicca. It's called common sense. Oh, gee, should we not use herbs in our cooking now too? Witches use herbs in their spells. Oh, golly! I hate to tell you, but all the cultures of the world used the seasons to plant crops, even the Jews, Christians and Muslims. That method does not belong solely to witches.

Saying that using the seasons to time your planting is Wiccan is like saying the golden rule concept is Christian.
Both of those "ideas" were around long before both religions were, they are just common sense and anyone with even a shred of common sense would have figured both those concepts out - and they did

My mom does, I'm a terrible gardner, but she's so talented at it.
The thing is, I know there are truths in other religions besides mine, I certainly won't be scared off by doing something right just because another religion happens to practice it as part of their faith.
Thanks

I have not have been given any theory. the assumption of eternal torture is disgusting. this is honestly excellent, that a set of those that asserts to hold lots love of their hearts, love that originated from their god, believes in a divinely designed reformatory of eternal torment and discomfort, and torture. that's a sickening attitude. you may think of god could merely end the existence of the unrighteous. no longer torture them for eternity. the subject isn't in spite of if or no longer this is real...(because of the fact this is not). the subject is a majority of christians have faith this place exists.

My Mom, a Christian, taught me to live by the phases of the moon. She grew up on a farm. Now, as a Buddhist, I still live by the moon and seasons. Rural Christians did this all the time.

Many Christians realize there are many pagan roots in our beliefs. It's nothing to be ashamed, embarrassed, or critical of.
It's part of who we are.
