its really irritating. everytime i have a big exam coming up, i never sleep well the night before the paper. i probably get about two hours sleep for nine hours of exam papers a day. i go to bed on time, but i cant sleep. i feel so tired when i am awake, but as soon as i hit the pillows, my head starts running with all the equations and the regular- what-if's . what can i do to make this stop?? it is ruining my performance on the exam papers!! and as soon as the exam finishes, i am able to sleep fine once again. this makes me very fustrated. i tried warm milk and butter toast, i tried listenint to soothing music, i tried counting sheep, i tried listening to the aircon. how do i turn my head off?? i also tried meditating in some yoga poses and concentrating on my breathing, but this makes me seem more awake as i am concentrating!! this sucks big time ppl! pls give me a better help than telling me to just relax, because clearly, i canttt! help pppl!! =)

Put down the books, go outside and play football or basketball with your friends until you drop from exhaustion, sleep very well, and ace your test because you were so well rested.

Before you go to bed, write down all the things that are on your mind. Never go to sleep with the T.V. on our circadian clocks are meant to sleep in the dark and the tv lights and sounds get our clocks off balance. Make sure you go to bed when your really tired, if your in bed for more than 15 minutes and still awake, get up and do something that you dont really enjoy (read something uninteresting or something) then try falling asleep again. It also helps when you dont do things like study, eat, or watch tv in your bed. Make your bed known for ONLY SLEEP! A cup of camamile tea might help also, good luck and sweet dreams to you!

Dont work on your papers and then go straight to bed. Stop working on your papers about an hour before you go to bed. In that hour take a warm bath, drink warm milk or tea (try something with chamomille, but NO caffine for 4 hours before going to sleep) and light a lavender candle. read something non school related that you enjoy and just, wind down. when you go to sleep make sure your room in cool and very dark. pick a slow soft song you enjoy and put it on repeat on your stereo (with volume turned so you can just hear it)
if its really really bad, talk to your doctor about a nonnarcotic sleep aid you can take for occasional insomnia. however, when taking a sleep aid you need to devote 8 hours to sleep so the pill has time to wear off

Try a Melatonin pill.

Melatonin is a chemical that the body naturally produces in response to changes in light. When it gets darker, your body produces more melatonin. The pill is really easy on you. You take it, get cozy in bed, and you naturally drift off. It doesn't give you any groggy feelings when you wake up either.

You can pick up a bottle at your local drugstore or Walmart or something. The kind I use is "Natrol Melatonin" 3 mg.

Good luck! =)

Try cutting caffeine out of your diet the day before your exam. When you go to bed, try listening to an audiobook. They always put me to sleep if I'm listening to them in bed. It's usually enough distraction to get me to stop thinking about whatever is worrying me. Focus on listening to the story and it should hopefully relax you enough to get you to sleep.

You can either find a store near you that deals with audiobooks, download one from the internet or get one from your local library.

You can find rest in Jesus. He loves you, and you are precious to Him.

In the Beginning God created heavens and earth.
God gives you air to breathe and sunshine to enjoy.
God gives you water to drink and food to eat.
God gives you a wonderful body and sound mind, to live.
God loves you, and you are precious to Him.
Son of God died on the Cross to save us from condemnation.
Jesus’ love is boundless and everlasting.
We have the hope of Heaven through Jesus.
Life therefore has fantastic and glorious future!
(Digestion of above can even prevent depression and suicidal thoughts.)
