I am a thinker. I think about the problem and I think about it from all sides. My part in it, other peoples part in it. I try to find out what is causing the problem? when the problem started? what changed before or after the problem? Exploding over a problem only makes things worse. It shows lack of self control and usually makes the person doing the exploding look unintelligent. Sometimes if the problem is really big I have to write down the answers to my questions above and re-read them over and over until I can see a solution. The main thing is to stay controlled and work it through there is always a solution but getting worked up about it never helps.

God has helped me to keep mental balance.
In the Beginning God created heavens and earth.
God gives you air to breathe and sunshine to enjoy.
God gives you water to drink and food to eat.
God gives you a wonderful body and sound mind, to live.
God loves you, and you are precious to Him.
Son of God died on the Cross to save us from condemnation.
Jesus’ love is boundless and everlasting.
We have the hope of Heaven through Jesus.
Life therefore has fantastic and glorious future!
(Digestion of above can even prevent depression and suicidal thoughts.)

Methodically, I go back to the core of what caused the problem in the first place. Than you take different steps to resolve it. My version is.. Resolve, Solve and Save my Sanity.

if you feel yourself getting angry, just stop. take a few deep breaths, and if neccessary (and feasible) leave for a few minutes to calm down. the key is to go into a confrontation knowing what needs to be said, to listen to what the other person says, but to emotionally detach yourself from the way it is said. remember, you can always come back and talk later, but you cant take back losing it.
